Sorry Choughed they are seriously veering into granny or nun territory and black would push them over the edge.

I can see how they'd be really comfortable though (trying to not offend you).

My Granny would not wear those.

If you are a nurse (for example) and need something practical with a covered toe for long shift work, I think they are fine.

Otherwise, no.

(Sorry for offending any stylish nurses Grin)

Grin say what you mean why don't you Grin

My problem is I need size 3 which lots of brands don't make. And I need a strap because my feet are different sizes.

You have made me see sense. I have found these - any good?

Now you're veering towards the children's shoe dept, no from me, but if you like them that's all that matters.Smile

Depends what you want them for.

Hotter mostly do granny shoes, but they are bloody comfortable and last for ages. If they were for work and you stand/walk a lot then I would say definitely get them.

Have you tired camper shoes?

They are kind of ugly but edgy and unbelievably comfortable

Why do you need a strap? Just because your feet are different sizes or for other reasons? Clarks do an odd size service (for adults as well as kids i think) and although it's a bit more, you can then go for decent looking shoes (ok, if you can find some in clarks!) maybe a nice ballerina?

How old are you if you don't mind me asking?
My nana is 85 and she has a similar pair.
I'm sure you could find something better..but if you like them go for it.
It's you whose wearing them.

byrdie I need a strap too for pumps because I git narrow feet. It isn't that unusual. I get away with just not wearing pumps! It's either boots or closed shoes like brogues for me.

You obviously really like them so go for it. Or at least try them in a shop to see what they actually look like on rather than ordering online. With trousers they'd probably be fine :-)

Report
Cass168 · 12/03/2016 13:07

No, they're not hugely fashionable but does that matter?

Report
Byrdie · 12/03/2016 13:08

I would still give the clarks odd size service a go as they will have separate widths in shoes too - especially as you're a size 3. Going in and getting measured, trying on a few shoes in different sizes and widths may help give you a bit more choice. And presumably be a bit more comfortable!
