Tell me about Next jeans

Used to work for Next about 15 or 16 years ago. Always remember trousers bought as uniform never fit too well. I'm very straight-up-and-down waist and hips wise, so trousers that fit round the waist were way to baggy around hips and thighs and trousers that fit on the hips left me unable to breathe.

Last pair of jeans I bought were Levi curve id slight curve ones which I love love love, but of course they don't do them any more and also Levis are pricey.

I love next for tops and floaty blouses. What do you reckon to their jeans? Also prefer a mid-rise as I hate having anything around my non-existent waist. Is that what their "standard rise" is?

My experience with Next jeans has been that they fit lovely when you put them on first but they get bigger and baggier as the day goes on.

Agree absolutely with burnishedsilver.

Exactly what Burnished said, it drives me crazy!

And what has happened to the denim? They come out of the tumble dryer like a screwed up rag. Life's too short to have to iron jeans.

I like their lift slim and shape skinny jeans. The waist is relatively high though so that might not work for you. I have a pair of their normal ones and they're ok but nothing special.

Hmmm, not sounding too great so far, perhaps I will steer clear.

I recently picked up a pair of Next grey skinnies in the sale for £10 and they fit like a glove. They don't seem to stretch during wear either - honestly the best-fitting jeans I've bought for a long while. I'm straight up-and-down too.

But jeans, in my experience, need trying on and shopping around for. You really can't tell otherwise which styles/brands are going to work.

Iv found that they are always short on the leg.

I'm 5f7 so not giant but reg (so the most abundant) are always too short

I've not found any 'always' about next jeans they are incredibly variable.

I once went into the changing room with two pairs of the 'same' size but different style jeans- there was 4 inches!! difference in the waist between them- I showed the assistant she just shrugged.

If you try them on and strike it lucky they can be great, but go in with a critical eye is my advice!

I love their lift/slim/shape jeans, but when I bought a new pair recently-found they'd changed the composition from something like 68% cotton/28% elastane, 4% polyester to 98% cotton and 2% elastane!

I was and still am devastated! They felt totally different. I even wrote to customer services about it, but they really didn't care. I truly love these jeans and am terrified they will be the only pair that will ever fit me properly!!!

They stretch horribly throughout the day. You start off the morning in skinny jeans, and by evening look as though you've borrowed your jeans off the big bloke down the road. Awful things.

Used to always buy next Jeans then went off them. Recently gone back but sizes so variable. I have skinny jeans in several different colours and they all fit slightly different. I presume it is down to variants in the fabric.

I've taken jeans back to next because they grow during the day , it's my pet hate as it renders them useless . I avoid now , I prefer oasis for going out jeans .. Also look at tk Maxx , I've seen Levi's curve in there recently .

I have a pair of oasis jeans that I bought while at university at still wear them so they've lasted well (a bit scuffed around the hem but adds to their charm).

I was hoping to avoid actually going shopping and trying stuff on but looks like I'll have to. This always happens - every time I find the perfect item they stop making them! Also true for stationery and food.

Their waists are all ways, too big. They must sell an awful lot of belts.
M & S are the only place, where the waists are nice and snug and fit me properly.

Next jeans are dreadful. Badly fitting and stretch loads through the day.

I'm straight up and down and find Next, whilst far from perfect, are the only make of jeans I can buy. If I try jeans on anywhere else, to get them fitting snugly round the bottom and thighs I can barely do them up round the waist. Next do seem to suit my apple shape but I have pairs which fit a lot better than others. I have the lift slim and shape skinny jeans in grey from last season and they are great - they don't go baggy after a few hours. I also have an identical pair in blue denim which lose their shape very quickly. This week I bought some of their jeggings and so far so good. I might go back for the black ones. If anyone else who's Apple shape has any recommendations for other makes of jeans I'd be interested.

The only item I loved from Next was the high waist skinny jeans. They then changed the design. However, they do not go too baggy....

I wouldn't buy Next jeans again.
Their skinnies 'rolled'down during wear.
I'm an apple shape and they just didn't suit me.
Topshop Moto are great.

Next jeans seem to be massive, every time I've tried my normal size on they've swamped me! I haven't bought jeans for about 10 years as I can never find a pair that fit nicely ANYWHERE!! River Island jeans used to fit nicely but now all they seem to do is skinnies which I don't really like Hmm

I love next jeans but I'm large of hips and arse with a small waist. I don't even bother looking anywhere else now.

I'm straight up and down and Miss Selfridge are my go to jeans, along with Primark if I want something in an interesting colour that I know I won't wear to death.

I bought some Next Slim&Lift (zip, 2 buttons and I need a belt, they do slip south after a couple of hours)

I need to give myself extra time to get to the loo after years of leggings !

Awful. Dont wash well, go all baggy at the knee and around the waist. Dont waste your money.

Report
LemonRedwood · 20/02/2016 17:50

General consensus is no then! Decision made. I've been on the Levi's website looking at sale items and bough myself 2 pairs of slim fit that were reduced to £40.
