Omg my lumea is amazing!

My DH bought me a lumea for Christmas after years of listening to me whinge about my body and facial hair. I wasn't entirely convinced it would work well for me as although I am dark haired I also have olive skin and permenant sun tan but OMG is is a bloody revelation. I've only used it 3 times and I have barely any hair on my face or arm pits and my legs, which have hair like a mans, are only patchy and growing back very slowly. I cannot tell you how much this little thing is going to change my life! I am so hairy!

Does anyone else on here have a lumea?

I don't have one but have considered buying one. I'm blonde and not very hairy at all, I just hate shaving and can't wax. I'm not sure how it works on blonde hair so will watch thread with interest.

I think it'll work on dark blonde hair but not while blonde. There's a colour chart somewhere, I'll try and find it for you.

Agreed, I've had mine about a year and it's hands down the best thing I've ever bought. Being able to do something about my thick, dark hair or stubble within hours of shaving was something I used to wish for but never thought would be possible and I'm amazed and delighted every day and how effective it's been and how much better I feel about myself.

Which one do you have, there is the 2006 / 2007 / 2009 which one is really good? I'm saving up for one but the 2009 is £450! Which will take me a while.

Does it hurt to do? Like waxing?

Report
Palomb · 25/01/2016 21:06

Mines the 2009 but dh got it when it was deal of the day and it was £250 so it's worth putting an alert on amazon. The only difference is the amount of flashes anyway I think, as long as they have both attachments they all do the same thing.

Doesn't hurt at all :)

Mine is the 2006, I used it every 2 weeks for the first 3 months as I was going on a 3 week holiday which pushed me in to buying after lots of dithering! I knew a wax would only last 10 days then i'd have gradual regrowth I couldn't shave away and I knew 3 weeks of daily shaving would mean itchy, sore, subbly legs as well as being time consuming. I didn't shave at all during that 3 week holiday. Since then I've done top ups every couple of months. It doesn't hurt at all!

Every couple of months! It doesn't seem possible Grin. I worked out that if I am able to give up shaving every day I'll be reclaiming a day and a half a year.

What should I do it with all my free time?

Ooo its £350 on Amazon with that link, thanks autumnboys.

Did your DH really get it for £250 or is he fibbing and just spoiled you? Need to know whether to wait and see if it goes even lower. I don't think my £30 boots points will cover a lumea Wink

Oh I want one sooooo much!

I am on my 2nd
I got one 2 or so years ago and never really used it on my arm puts and legs but did on my face
definely worked but I was lazy with it. Battery or flash died in October and I was a bit meh
then my beard came back
Omg
got a new one for xmas and already .y face is 2o times better and my negs and pits vastly improved.
I've used it each Saturday this month after leg and pit shave and today my legs barely have stubble and sâme with puts
plucked face today and probably about 15 long light fluffy hairs instead of 60 black bristly ones

I have a collection of Amazon vouchers and birthday/christmas money to spend and am very tempted to get a Lumea. I could probably live without it, but am becoming increasingly hairy as menopause looms which is depressing. Also my DD is very hairy and I think that she might be interested in using it in a year or two. Can the units be shared hygenically? Is there a lower age limit below which they may be damaging?

What is this miracle machine? How does it work, like an epilator?

Report
Derbyday · 26/01/2016 23:54

That link was £269 last night! I bought one. Then cancelled. Then bought it again.

He definitely got it for £250. I know because I sent him the link in September or something 🤗. It was an Amazon deal of the day.

As far as I can tell the only difference is the amount of flashes. The one I have has enough glades to last 5 years, some are less.

I just looked at the link again and it's £300 how can there be 3 different prices in 24 hours?? And I'm not seeing the cheaper prices Sad

It's not like an epilatorbeehoven it's a hand held laser/light machine that's zaps each follicle and slowly kills it. Time consuming but more long term. Some come with the face attachments which are handy.

It's going up in price because we're all clicking on the link Smile Sooooo tempted!
