What wash in hair colour would you recommend?

Any especially good ones/or ones to avoid, even?

Dd wants to have a go. Going from dark ash blonde to a reddish chestnut brown (hopefully). Ive never used hair colour, other than having highlights at the hairdressers, so would be grateful for any suggestions please

None really - they don't work very well, and what little difference you can see lasts only for one or two washes. I doubt a fairly substantial change such as going from blonde to reddish brown will be terribly successful with just a wash in colour.

I'd go for something like Nice and Easy, if she's sure she wants a permanent change.

Thanks! It could be a good thing as it would be enough for her to see if she wants to make it permanent. She's 15 and rather prone to changing her mind...

Try one and see how you get on, but I do think she'll be disappointed with a wash in wash out one.

If it's any help, my DD2, 16, changes her hair colour all the time, and it hasn't fallen out yet. So if she used a permanent one and didn't like it, all is not lost.

Adore do some nice natural shades in semi-permanent dye.

They last about 6-8 washes, if she just want to try a few colours.

Permanent dyes have peroxide in them, so will damage hair, but the Adore stuff is basically coloured conditioner. For best results using a clarifying shampoo & then leaving the dye on overnight
