Just thought I would start this thread as the results day will be here before we know it as the summer is flying past!

Dd has already seen next year's timetable and has 4 exams in 5 days!

Just had a look at the timetable: ds' exams will be nice and spread out. Starts on Friday 5th, finishes on Friday 26th, with the closest exams being Maths and Chemistry (Friday then Monday - both of which are strong subjects for him).

I fortunately have this year and next year off from exam results (dd finished school last year and da just starting 3rd year). I'm grateful for it, but boy am I going to take badly when it's ds' turn!

DS just informed me that he forgot to sign up for text results.....about 20 minutes after the deadline! Says he's not bothered, he is on no rush. Hmm

I did have a look at next year's exam dates, DS2 is doing his Nat 5s and his seem to be nearer the beginning of leave so aren't as spread out as DS1s were. I can't remember when DS1s Highers are....it was all too much to take in!

My DD finished 6th year this year so we're waiting to find out her results and crossing our fingers she gets the grades she needs for her conditional offer at uni. Probably tempting fate but I started buying bits and bobs for her uni room.

She's signed up for text results as our postman has a habit of mixing our mail up with the neighbour's so thought a text would be the best option.

Fingers crossed MatthewWrightResearch Is DD feeling confident?

..and yes, text would be the best option! (especially when your Mum will be working and the post doesn't come until lunchtime)

It's also DS2s birthday though so intending going in to work really early so I can finish up in time to have lunch with him/them.

I've printed out the exam timetable for next session but am not counting any pigeons. I think DS1 and I have PTSD from last year's results day Confused. I hope so much that he has got the results he deserves after all the study he did and how good his marks were all year, but that's not how it worked out last year at all.

At least he's getting the results texted to him this year so we won't be waiting until half past bloody 3 in the afternoon for the postie this time.....

It's dd's highers which are all in the same week. All essay based too.

DS2 has all his Nat 5s between the 5th and 19th. Fri/Mon/Tues/Fri/Mon/Tues/Fri all in a run. At least it gets it over and done with but i think he'll struggle to get studying. He is motivated by what he is motivated by and naught else. :)

DS1s highers are a bit more spread out and start on the 5th and don't finish until the 25th - although he has still managed to get two on consecutive days.

when the time comes there's an exam helpline for those who did not get the right grades, or not sure what they can do with their grades

Been quite a few years since I've had to worry about this - big gap between older DDS and Ds. Nat 5s for us next year...plus finals for dd2 for her honours year at uni.

I was just thinking that Groovee. DSs away camping with DH, I've managed to get DS2s birthday stuff sorted and now have a few days to sit and worry about results day all by myself....

Anyone want to have a stab at what results they think DC will get and we can see how close we get?

English A/B
Maths hoping for a B but more likely a C
Biology B
Drama B
Dance B

All nat5. But I'm not meant to share her actual results on line. She doesn't want people to know.

Even anonymous people like us on here Groovee or does she mean of FB with people you actually know?

I'm guessing:

Maths - A
Physics - A
Engineering - A
Computing - B
Geography - B
English - B
Art - B/C

I'm convinced that DS thinks he has straight As - I think he is going to be disappointed. I'll be happy if he passes them all as I think he genuinely did his best or near his best and you really can't ask any more than that. I'll be proud of him regardless - I just hope he does enough to feel proud of himself.

Hopefully no one will realise it's me on here haha.

Maths was hard but I know she worked hard. It was the night I was in the house and found them all the garden doing a group revision as those not doing biology were firing a list of questions at them and they were doing the same back for other subjects.

Dd may get to do biology and drama as the school near us which could take her as it was closed, is reopening.

Oh, that's good news then - fingers crossed.

DS1 is enjoying his 5th year stuff and is crashing his Higher Graph comm - he is supposed to get an A in Art in order to be allowed to do that but unless I've lost my eye for art or something, I can't see that happening. Hopefully he'll be allowed to continue in the class regardless.

English: A/B (he's worried about the close reading)
French: B/C (he just couldn't get motivated and wasn't enthused by his teacher. Says now he should've done Spanish as that's what two of his clever friends did and he'd have been competitive with them)
PE: A (that one is already in the bag Smile)
Computing Science: B (his practical assignment was good, just depends on whether the exam drags him down/up)
Maths: A
Physics: A
Chemistry: A
Geography: A (although he's worried about one question)

It'll be interesting to see how close that is to his actual results.

Just like everyone I really hope her results reflect all her effort and hard work.. ..and hope she is not disappointed . I am happy that she has worked hard and coped as well as she could (anxiety) . Proud already 😊but here's my guesses for Nat 5

English -A
Maths -? Who knows with Paper 1 and her blind panic ?? -B/C
French -A
Modern Studies -B... poss A
P.E -A
Biology -B

3As and 3Bs would be great ...

Hello again. Thanks for starting a results thread Groovee

DS is hoping for 4As and a B. He slightly over-estimated his grades for nat5s so I'm going with 3As, B and C.
