Welcome..... I'd concocted a longer title with all sorts of references to bitch stitching and pasta bakes, but was thwarted by the pesky character limit

Minimammoth Tue 04-Dec-18 14:45:35

Thanks for new thread*notdead*.
Please no more catastrophes, maybe they will fling open the barn doors and there will be a donkey, cow, sheep and a young woman with a new born.

MrsArthurShappey Tue 04-Dec-18 14:58:22

Oh that's a tremendous thread title! Thanks BOING

NotdeadyetBOING Tue 04-Dec-18 15:04:58

Why thank you, MrsArthurS [shuffles off bashfully]

TheMadGardener Tue 04-Dec-18 15:17:40

Death of Rosie in a fire would be a bit grim, though. No, surely not?

I know! I know! The barn catches fire, Rosie is endangered, Rex heroically saves her but is hospitalised with injuries, and Jill is overcome with gratitude that the Sacred Grandchild has been saved and vows that from now on she will love all Fairbrothers. Everyone gathers at Rex's hospital bedside where Pip and Lily compete to see who is to look after the wounded hero. Neil and Jazzer organise a rota to look after Rex's pigs. Russ complains that Lily is ignoring him and huffs off to spend Christmas with Lara, who has offered to cook him a gluten-free roast with vitamin-enriched gravy if he comes back.

...Too much??? grin grin grin

Great title! Thanks for the new thread, BOING.

Just a reminder that spoilers are forbidden on this thread. We can talk about anything that's gone out on the programme but the Radio 4 teasers, Radio Times soap column and so forth are all restricted to the separate spoiler thread also in the Radio Addicts section.

buckingfrolicks Tue 04-Dec-18 15:28:11

That's an impressive thread title Boing!

EBearhug Tue 04-Dec-18 15:33:52

Checking in...

ANutAsBigAsABoulder Tue 04-Dec-18 15:37:09

A Whiff of Snell sounds like a Sunday night drama grin Thank you for the new thread!

Fink Tue 04-Dec-18 15:39:00

Thanks for the thread.

I was wondering whether Russ might not be so desperate to have Lily back if he could work out a way to convince the amazing neighbourhood vegan café (the one that made it worth getting a flat so far off campus) to give him food on credit.

willywillywillywilly Tue 04-Dec-18 15:39:58

Late to this discussion but in our house tuna bake is crisp because the topping is.. crisps! Not exactly gordon blue I know but it is very satisfying.

grin A Whiff Of Snell as a Sunday night drama - brilliant!

DadDadDad Tue 04-Dec-18 15:51:17

Thanks for starting the thread. I for one welcome our new NotdeadyetBOING overlord.

And thanks to Bittermints for putting all the chairs away and generally tidying up the last thread.

howdyho Tue 04-Dec-18 15:54:50

Shuffle back on BOING thread title's fab!

Fink Tue 04-Dec-18 16:21:22

I saw Nadiya (the one from Bake Off who now does other shows, she's wad floating around Cambodia yesterday) use crisps as a base for a chocolate tart, so you might as well put them on pasta!

redsummershoes Tue 04-Dec-18 16:27:15

chrisps instead of breadcrumbs wirk really well.
<placemarking>

Minimammoth Tue 04-Dec-18 16:50:06

I noticed today that Lily said ‘ a perfect opportunity to get started on some artwork’ in other words Russ has done sod all as yet.

SenoritaViva Tue 04-Dec-18 16:54:09

Mini I noticed that too. He sounds so very needy, it would make me want to run a mile. I do think Lily will see it eventually though, I think the cracks are already showing.

cheminotte Tue 04-Dec-18 16:55:22

Thanks for the lovely new thread Boing and lovely thread filling Bittermint (Elizabeth Shaw or another one?

willywillywillywilly Tue 04-Dec-18 17:18:01

Crisps in chocolate tart?? I have just googled the recipe Fink and my mind is blown!

cheminotte Tue 04-Dec-18 17:39:33

And thank you for whoever recommended the Archers advent calendar. The only problem is there are character pictures!

witchmountain Tue 04-Dec-18 17:41:14

Thanks notdead and bittermints!

I find it hard to believe that Jenny thought it was a 'hippy fit'.

I imagine that raising Kate could leave you with that kind of misunderstanding.

DoctorTwo Tue 04-Dec-18 18:08:07

Thanks for the new thread Notdead.

I hope Lily doesn't move back to Manchester till Russ moves back to Borsetshire.

ADarkandStormyKnight Tue 04-Dec-18 19:04:24

Hurray for the new thread!

EBearhug Tue 04-Dec-18 19:12:01

Well, Phoebe...

AngelinaNeurosurgeon Tue 04-Dec-18 19:12:27

Surely even the TA sw's know that conveying a property takes longer than 3 weeks, especially when it involves carving off a house from a larger piece of agricultural land? hmm
Perhaps they expect Usha the legal fairy to wave her magic wand!
