Hi we are about to order kitchen from DIY and worktops in Quartz which are so much more than the laminate are they worth it?
Is DIY good for quartz or would I save purchasing them from somewhere else looking forward to any help

Haven't bought through DIY but love quartz. Would never choose laminate. Other alternatives would be granite or corian. All have pros/cons.

Thanks do you have any recommendations somewhere competitive

redid our kitchen a couple of years back, 20 year old laminate still immaculate so replaced with the same. Withstands keys dropped, hot pans and even the odd bit of forgetful knife use.

kitchen kit is like weddings; aimed at women and so overpriced and impractical. Ask hard questions and don't be fobbed off.

We got our quartz from Mayflower Stone, and we've been really happy with it. The price was excellent, as was the service.

If you have a local stone merchant, it's also worth enquiring with them too.

I didn't get my quartz from DIY (although the rest of the kitchen came from them), but our local recommended Stone mason came out at 75% of the prices quoted to us by Howdens.
