Spelling words Year 2

Where would I find a list of spelling words that children will be expected to know by end of Year two?

National Curriculum PAGE 54 is not exactly a word list, more a list of phonetic rules for spelling.

Support for spelling doc has 300 words in the appendix.

I wonder if there is a suggested list of words including tricky words etc?

There's always Letters & Sounds. Phase 6 is aimed at Year 2.

The new national curriculum has a list of common exception words pupils are expected to be able to spell by the end of year 2. Not sure which page though, but you'll find the whole thing to download if you google, then skip through the English pages till you get to that bit.

Although it's not statutory for Year 2 until Sept 2015.

Good point Feenie! But I haven't been able to work out a reason not to start using the common exception word lists now rather than wait a year.
