Do any posh people give dummies?

I'm sure people across all social classes give dummies. I tried with DS and DD but neither were interested. Not sure I'm posh though .

I didn't give DS2 a dummy for precisely the reason you describe, fear of other people's opinions.

Butterfly, both mine had dummies, to get over that desperate sucky stage.

DS1 - til 8 months
DS2 - til 4 months

I would pop it out as soon as they had fallen asleep.

I noticed on holiday (at a rather posh 5 star hotel) that practically all of the Southern Europeans seem to use dummies. Mus.t be less of a stigma there (if indeed there is one here - I think there is a little bit tbh)

The only place I have ever found snobbiness about dummies is MN - both mine had one.

my dear mama thinks it is not at all cricket to give the baby a dummy, but then she thinks I should be giving the baby rosehip syrup and/or sloe gin so I've stopped listening

Don't worry what other people think. If you want him to have a dummy then give him one. There are a lot of things that look common on babys. Earings, slogan T shirts, jeens, trainers etc. I don't think dummies are in the same catogory.
