Good online florists

Could anyone recommend a reasonably priced florist that would deliver to the Sheffield area? I want to send flowers to friends there.

Can't believe the supermarket mark ups though, you can buy flowers really cheaply in store but online they seem to treble their prices.

Why can't they deliver floral bouquets in the same way as they do their groceries!!!

Have a look on Yell.com for a florist in the area of sheffield where they live - order over the phone. I do this all the time it saves on interflora prices and stuff.

How much do you want to spend?

Next do lovely flowers, and you can order online.

I have used a good one called "Flying flowers" based in Jersey.Sory haven't got e addy but if you google them you can see they are good value and have always delivered lovely bouquets.

I second Jingley- or go on Google maps & google florists using the posstcode for your friends. You'll probably find one round the corner so you'll be supporting a local business that way too!

Thanks all, I am happy to spend about £20-£30
I send flowers to rels in Surrey and use a garden centre called Notcutts, its unbelievably good quality and value. They don't cover Sheffield though and just wonderd if there was a similair outfit that others could recommend.

I do like to support local retailers but have been disappointed by them too in the past, notably when my sil recieved a grave pot instead of a hand tied posy for her bithday

Wrinklytum, my SIL always sends us Chrsitmas flowers from the Jersey company you mentioned and tbh they are usually a bit tired when they arrive. MIL has said the same, but we don't want to offend SIL by telling her (silly I know). We have asked her not to send any this year (but didn't say 'cos they're usually crap anyway)

wrinklytum · 13/12/2007 22:49

Oh dear!!I have used them several times and have always had positive feedback!!Maybe my IN laws have just been polite!!!

I second Next, beautiful flowers, good service and good prices.

Marks & Sparks also good. Flying Flowers are lousy, both quality of flowers and their service. Have never used them since they did not manage to deliver for mothers' day one year and told me (after I called) that they were "very busy" (yeah? funny that!) and would "see if they could get them out in the next week or so." FFS...

(My mother told me they were crap flowers anyway after I told her what had happened.)

I've used www.flowercard.com a few times. They are a bit different (flowers in a card ) and they've been lovely.
