Well darling, this certainly is not the place for you. Perhaps a time machine to transport you back to 1956 would be better suited for you. Good luck with being a "surrendered wife". Great example you are setting for your children by the way.

Hi Mandy
Iam new here too, could you explain what a surrendered wife is? Feel like I should know but unfortunately I've never heard that term before!

Report
lotuseener · 16/10/2012 00:29

Well of course you aren't here to argue! Surrendered wives aren't allowed to argue.

The "Surrendered Wives" movement is centered around six basic principles:
a wife relinquishes control of her husband's life
she respects his decisions for his life
she practices good self-care (she does at least three things a day for her own enjoyment)
she also practices receiving compliments and gifts graciously
she practices expressing gratitude (thanking her husband for the things he does)
a surrendered wife is not afraid to show her vulnerability and take the feminine approach
Continuing in an abusive, alcoholic, or adulterous relationship is not promoted or condoned.

How do you practice receiving compliments and gifts graciously?

The image that gave me was a woman looking a mirror saying thank you and curtsying

Give up unnecessary control and responsibility
Express their needs while also respecting their husband's choices
Resist the temptation to criticize, belittle or dismiss their husbands
Trust their husbands in every aspect of marriage - from sexual to financial...and more.

Wow. I wouldn't even be able to make myself begin reading a guide to marriage that had such a misogynistic title.

What sparked your interest in it, Mandy111?

Mandy my question was an actual question as I would like to know.

bushymcbush, i was having a few problems in my marriage, and was looking for a way to improve it i have been one for over a year, what sparked my interest i was just looking over the internet, for ways to make my marriage better, i watched a documentary about it, which i dident like to much but i liked the idea so i brought the book and it went from there, really i havent looked back since my marriage is like a rock nowxx

InSP'sfanjo, I think she means practise as in actually doing, not as in rehearsing. Like practising medicine.
