Belgian mumsnetters meetup before kreecher leaves!

We need to organise this a bit in advance so that as many people as possible can come. It doesn't have to be lunch of course - we could make it dinner so that the working mums have more of a chance to come.

Any suggestions?

Good question RuthChan. I've just sent her a message and will post when I get a reply.

I've replied! I am leaving on August 1st with DD. As I explained to Longtime, DH is going to Thailand for a fortnight in July, so sometime then would be best. I need to ask him exactly when he is going, he's booked the flights but I wasn't really interested TBH.

Hi Kreecher

Have just replied but didn't for some reason register that July is already the summer holidays. We can certainly try and do something then (we don't away until August so I know we're free) with the dcs as well but I was hoping to do a lunch before they break up for summer so either this month or next.

Any suggestions for dates anyone?

I'm away for pretty much the whole of July. How about one of the BH's that are coming up? I am off work 2/3 June and 13th June for definite.

Other than that I can do most weekends til then. Not 10/11th June as going to the UK for a wedding, nor 23rd May as it is the Champions League final and DH is throwing a party (hopefully not too prematurely) - all are welcome!

Also happy to host something (BBQ?) at mine.....

I'm away for the second half of July, but have few plans until then.
I'm up for a BBQ or lunch etc with our families or a quiet do with just adults.
I have a pretty empty diary, so am quite flexible except for weekday evenings.

TBH, I'd prefer an afternoon thing where we could bring our DC. I am prepared to host a BBQ in our miniscule back garden if anyone fancies that?

Longtime · 05/05/2011 23:14

BBQ sounds good. Our garden's too small too. Porto's offering too :)

Whichever suits. As I said, our garden really is miniscule, I'd estimate it is 10 metres long by about 4 metres wide. Not big enough to swing all the nine cats next door joined together.

I am happy to host! Our garden is not huge but we have quite a big terrace and a large table. Have quite a lot of space inside too in case it rains....

I could put the paddling pool/swingball out and force ask DH to wait on us. Grin

If you don't mind that would be fantastic. Me and DD could also supply swingball and some kebabs or pudding or something lovely.

I do think YYF should be guest of honour ...

Report

Grin at YYF! How could we tempt him to come?

Report
kreecherlivesupstairs · 06/05/2011 11:29

Don't forget he's been demoted, he is now YF on acount of gorgeous Mrs YYF.

I think I've missed something...

If that's referring to YYF being demoted, it really is quite simple. He is married.

Still happy. I live very close to the Brussels Ring/E40. I know Belgo can get here on the bus from Leuven (as she has already been for coffee and twitched over my playmobile)

OK, it seems to have settled on a do at Porto's. Can I suggest some dates that are good for me and DD. I doubt that DH would come, he is always busy at work and then he is going to Thailand for two weeks so me and littlekreech will be all alone Smile

If anyone has any preferences for a meet up location, that fine with me too! I don't want to takeover Blush....

Oooh, just seen this thread now! Count me in Grin (I hope, depending on dates...)

Everyone is more than welcome to come here too, we have just spent literally days putting up a climbing frame so it would certainly keep kids occupied!

Will read back properly now to see if specific dates have been mentioned...
