FET in August anyone?

Auchan · 01/08/2017 16:28

I'm getting ready to start my first FET in August. We have one PGS tested embryo waiting to be transferred.

I'm with a clinic abroad which brings it's own complications! Looking at my projected cycle we should be doing FET the last week of August all going to plan.

Anyone else?

Me 😌
This is also my first FET after a failed fresh cycle. I go on Monday for my first scan and injection. I have one frozen, 6 day embryo.
How are you feeling? I am trying to take a more relaxed approach this time round.

Me too,
My first FET after a failed fresh cycle Dec 16 and successful fresh cycle May 17 which sadly ended in mmc.
I have one frozen grade A blast. Will start injections and tablets on day 2 of this months period, should be mid August, hoping for transfer by end Aug x

Me too, although promised myself I'd stay off these threads this time so as not to jinx it!
Failed fresh in June. I'm on day 8 of progynova and will have my Fet around 11th August. Self funded at Republic, Czech Republic. So terrified it will fail again.
Good luck to all. X

So sorry coco for your mmc, that must have been incredibly tough Flowers

Thanks scottish it was really tough, feel so cheated that we got our first ever bfp only for it to be taken away. Terrified that the same thing will happen again.

Sorry to hear about yr failed cycle, keeping my fingers crossed for this one! How are you finding the progynova? X

Me.
Had a failed fresh cycle, and one failed natural fet.
Hoping for another fet this month as long as bloods go to plan (natural cycle).
Last frozen so hoping for third time lucky for me too!

Hi everyone, sorry I missed the replies.

I didn't have a fresh cycle as we wanted to do PGS as I've had recurrent miscarriages. Sorry about the MMC Coco and all the failed cycles.

We're self funded with Gennet in Prague. Only about 4 days left until my cycle is due to start. I'm so nervous about side effects from the meds Sad

Hi, could I join? I'm due to do start a FET this month. I think I'm going with medicated. Is anyone here doing medicated with down regulation?

Report
Auchan · 10/08/2017 16:39

Hi Avocado. Has been a quiet thread. I don't know where everyone else went to.

I'm medicated too but no down regulation. I'm on cycle day 2. When are you due to start?

Hi Auchan,

I'm waiting for CD1 any time now but because I have to down reg, transfer is at least 50 days away Sad

Do you know which CD your transfer is likely to be?

I'm still here! Transfer tomorrow. I probably won't post much as I'm trying not to obsess too much this time. I'll be testing next Friday...
Seems very surreal. Currently lying in hotel room for the mandatory half hour of pessaries, in same hotel as last time. Everything is so familiar, deja vu and feeling sad that I've had to come back when I could have been 3 months pregnant already.
Avocado, transfer will be day 19 of cycle for me. I only got the date confirmed after the day 12 scan. Day 19-21 is the norm.
Hope everyone else is doing well in the lead up xx

Scottish - thanks for the response about cycle day Smile and good luck tomorrow if we don't speak beforehand!

Beherenow - are you with the NHS? How long have you got to inject for? My clinic estimated 2 weeks of burselin to start with and then a scan. I only had 9 days of injections for IVF, I was hoping this would be less!

I am nhs, yeah. It's just one injection that I get. Intramuscular this time. Wonder why it's so different. Maybe all depends on each individual x

Scottishgirl we're rooting for you. The very best of luck Flowers

My transfer day on the protocol is day 18 but that will depend on my lining. I'm usually a day 20 ovulation and day 30 cycle day 1. I've got my endometrium check on the 18th and that will give us a good indication of transfer day.

Hi Scottish, glad it went well! How was the acupuncture? I think I might try it too!

Report
Scottishgirl85 · 13/08/2017 08:31

I'm glad I did it, can't do any harm and it was relaxing. She came to my hotel room before transfer and again straight after transfer. It was specifically fertility acupuncture, all about drawing energy to the uterus and helping your body to accept the embryo. I'm not sure I quite buy into all of it. She talked about diet too, and gave me Chinese herbs to take, which I'm going to skip. She also taped a seed to a stress point on my ear that I could press whenever I felt stressed?! And two other taped bits to the same ear that I was to press three times a day to encourage acceptance of the embryo. When I pressed those ones it was quite sore, so I removed them (meant to keep them in for a week) to discover that they had tiny needles attached to them!! So I removed all the plasters - that bit was just freaky! But the actual acupuncture was nice. Feel I've gone all out this cycle, it's all down to luck now, I couldn't have done any more.
Why don't you use the extra month now to have a scratch done? I'm a scientist by training and it's clear to me that the scratch does actually have sone promising evidence. It's the one add-on that I actually believe! That would maybe make the wait feel more worthwhile for you?
Xx

Avocadosmoothie · 13/08/2017 19:23

Oh wow that's so freaky!!! Acupuncture is not really my thing at all but I'm going to try it as can't harm. Did you say you're planning to test at 7dpt?

The only thing that puts me off the scratch is that I've heard it's very painful. How painful was yours? No need to sugar coat for me! 😊
