There are not many direct scheduled flights to Sardinia - via Rome is an option.British Airways do fly from Gatwick to Cagliari but only in peak season 3 x a week.Italian Meridiana fly from Gatwick to Cagliari and Olbia also and although we have flown with them I found easyjet better.

We have however flown several times with Easyjet and also Ryanair. It depends on which part of the island you are going to. Ryanair fly Stansted to Algehero the North West and Easyjet fly from Gatwick to Olbia in the North East close to the Costa Smeralda but also Luton to Cagliari which is in the South but well linked to most areas with pretty good roads.Where are you going in Sardinia?

We prefer Easyjet as they seems to have better flight times and are more flexible with what extra items you can take above the luggage allowance for babies/children such as pushchairs, car seats and carry cots.

We love Sardinia

Just looked at previous thread. If you are going to the Forte you need to fly to Cagliari really as it is just about 1/2 hr away.We have stayed in that area and Chia beach just by there is beautiful exactly like the pictures

oh wow - catsanddogs - those pics are amazing.

and thank you so much for imparting your wisdom... i think BA gatwick-cagliari is looking like the most appealing option then...
