Been thinking it was just me. I just cant be bothered. Not something anyone openly discusses and you think they are all doing it more than you!

How's the counselling going?@NMC. I have thought about counselling to address this so many times, but ultimately bottle it.

lol meandmyjo DH's saying "so are we doin' it tonight or what?" Its such a turn on isn't it?

It's comforting isn't it, needmorecoffee? I have long secretly suspected that I am the only woman in the entire world who would rather curl up in bed with a good book...Nice to know I'm not the freak of nature I thought I was.

32, sex drive packed its bags and left when ds1 arrived almost 9 years ago.

Would love to feel all horny and want it as much as dh does. But to be honest, tv or bed with a book and a glass of wine is way more appealing than sex.

Doesn't mean I love dh any less though.

counselling is tedious. This week I am meant to stroke bits of my body. Sigh. I just can't be arsed.
I am having repair surgery done in a month though but am only doing it for DH really.
I liked it years ago when at it like bunnies but just not interested. ho de hum

I think for a lot of people it's the old 'do it more = enjoy it more = want it more'...

Having dc does make it harder to maintain a high sex drive though. Wave bye-bye to morning shagathon sessions, crash into bed at night in search of slumber

Got to make yourself do it, in a way

NMC - just read your last post

Sorry if my last post sounded a bit flippant and insensitive, wasn't aware you had physical probs (or anyone else)

Report
needmorecoffee · 18/10/2008 20:39

not just that Bernard but a brain damaged child who requires 24 hour care. If I get 5 mins peace I'd rather relax and read or mumsnet!

As I suspected@NMC

That's the [email protected] hate forcing myself to do it. I don't enjoy it. I so want to enjoy it, not lie there hoping it will all be over quickly. Grrrr.

Ad to think, I used to be practically swinging from the chandeliers...

I'm a bit like that.

Most of the time, I feel as if I wouldn't mind it if I never had sex again.

Can't be bothered seeing anyone about it... because it doesn't actually bother me. I'm perfectly happy in myself with no sex drive. But I do worry that it is frustrating for dh. At the moment, sex is just another chore, often on a par with mopping the kitchen floor.

Physical problems are part of what put me off in the first place, too (not in your league, though, NMC ). I haven't felt the same about sex or my body since giving birth, and that's the sad truth.

Report
needmorecoffee · 18/10/2008 20:42

maybe the counselling will work MrsMattie. If I didn't have DH this wouldn't be a problem and I wouldn't need conselling.....
