Hi I have been having a few health issues recently and spoke to Dr who suggested I was tested for diabetes and vitamins levels. I went for bloods done yesterday and received a message saying that I was deficient in folic acid . I was told its same as B12 and they have sent me a prescription to the chemist for a course of 3 months. Well they make me feel better?

I have just started taking tablets - about 4 days in. (I was a bit surprised to find I was low, because I thought they were just testing blood sugars and cholesterol, not b12...) So it's a bit early to tell yet, but also I didn't think I was feeling that tired, and when I have, I've usually put it down to still being awake at 2am, and not getting enough sleep, which I am getting better at.

I will have a follow-up blood test in a month, and have been prescribed 8 weeks of tablets (cyanocobalamin), so I think it's a bit early to tell if it's making a difference.

And it's definitely more likely to do me good than cyanide, which I initially misread on the box of tablets... Grin
