Smear test

Hi,

I suffer from anxiety and this could be why I am panicking. I had a smear test on Friday and the doctor said that he could feel a little bump so I should get checked by a gynaecologist. I have booked a time to get it checked.

He also told me that I might bleed a bit after the smear. I bled a bit on Friday and Saturday. Almost nothing on Sunday, Monday there was nothing and this morning I woke up and after a bowel movement there was bloody discharge. I am due my period between Saturday this week and Monday next week (am on the pill).

I am up to date on my smears and they have all been clear so far. I still haven't received the answer to the last one.

Is it normal to still have some bleeding on day 4?

As for the lump he found, if my smears have all been clear and I received the vaccine when I was 24 (was a virgin) what are the risks that this could be caused by cancer? Has anyone tried this before?

Bump?

The bump is probably a cyst. They’re very common. Try not to worry.

Not sure about the bleeding but in all probability it’s connected to the smear.

I have had bleeding between periods and after a smear. Something to do with cervix cells turning into something else but absolutely nothing to worry about. Your risk of cancer is vanishingly small. Hard to actually hear that when panic takes hold. I remember my Dr saying she was sure there was nothing to worry about and looking at me strangely when I was asking about hysterectomy... I just wasn't listening when she was saying she was 99% sure it wasn't cancer.

I had bleeding after my last smear too! I think they scrape 😳 a lot harder these days... as it had never happened before.

Don't worry about a bump too much...

Also got my period or weird bleeding 2 weeks before my period was due 1 week after Astra Zeneca

Cycle all normal next month
