Deviated septum/blocked ear -give me your experiences

I've had a feeling of pressure/fullness in my left ear for some weeks now. To cut a long story short I've tried everything to relieve it that I can before resorting to the GP this week. (Olive oil/earex/home syringing - Although it's not wax), decongestants, steaming with olbas oil etc etc.

Doc has looked in my ears (nothing all look fine), looked down my throat and then up my nose. He's concluded the problem with my ear is a deviated septum. I do generally feel stuffy in my nose on that side and get what I can only describe as a pressure headache on the same side now and again. He's prescribed a steroid nasal spray to try.

I just wondered if anybody else has experienced ear pressure problems arising from a deviated septum. It's quite frankly driving me mad. Feels like my ear needs to pop but it can't fully of that makes sense. I even bought a ear popping device but that hasn't worked.

Also why would I never have noticed this before? I'm 47!

@Tanfastic hi I know this is quite old but did this get resolved?? I’ve just gone and had a septoplasty three days ago and I still have the pressure in the ear (I know it’s early days!)
