so we are doing this

I have so far drunk lemon water, green tea, and Rooibosh with rice milk

I have had the worst muesli known to man

did enjoy my rye bread and asparagus and poached egg for lunch

tonight it is salmon with broccoli and kale (looking forward to this)

but I do want to go to sleep

if the devil were here right now I would hand over all my chocolate for the next 5 years in exchange for a latte

I have had some mint tea and several glasses of water. Late night last night so I haven't felt like eating yet.

Planning on Roast chicken Breast and Goats cheese salad for dinner.

Looking forward to my book arriving so I can check out the recipes

Good luck cap
I don't have the stamina or will power to do this but have found in the past that giving up sugar has been amazing for energy. as for coffee, I'm a big coffee drinker but found that it's mainly habit. I've been caffeine free before (mainly substituting with rooibos) and I don't feel it made that much of a difference tbh.
May the force be with you and look forward to hearing about your Gwyneth Glow (tm)

I am drinking lots more water and eating more fruit and veg today

both these goals fit in nicely with a roast beef dinner followed by fruit salad and chocolate ice cream to be fair

I am vaguely envious of your ability to commit to this and know I need to do something similar but baby steps

dogsby one of my detox meals is one of your favourites

tuna and asparagus and purple broccoli

I am serene and unphased by your baked potato as I don't really like 'em

hello again paula

Wha does an oatcake taste like? Is it like a rice cake? I always thought those tasted like ceilling tiles

You can get some with poppy and seseame seeds. There are some mustard seed ones that are fabulous

Hi Paula, how are you finding it? Saw you said you'd had a late night, did you start the day with a hangover this morning?

Report
paulaplumpbottom · 27/05/2007 22:52

No hangover, stuck to champagne all night, but didn't feel great either. Had to go to my nephews birthday party at my BIL's pub where they were serving gorgeous food. That was hard but I explained why I wasn't eating and he had the chef make up a gorgeous salad for me so it got me through. I usually eat loads of fruit and I am really missing that. I don't know if i'll make it three weeks without fruit.

What about you?

I did this detox last year - I really like it. I might go back on it as I have become totally addicted to sugar and am getting lots of IBS symptoms. Are the recipes in the book? (I think I used an article in Eve magazine).

Report
mangojuice · 27/05/2007 23:01

Are all fruits out I wonder? It must have been tough last night but it's good that people are being supportive for you. Glad you didn't have a hangover this am, would have been tough to stick to I would have thought! Are you stopping alcohol as well for the detox?

Report
paulaplumpbottom · 27/05/2007 23:12

Yes, I'm not a big drinker so it doesn't bother me. I am also thinking of trying for a baby again in July so I would be giving it up around now anyway. I think she said you could have bananas but I'm alleric to them. Do you think its a good idea to cut out fruit? Can that be healthy? I mean Cap said we couldn't even have tomatos

Report
mangojuice · 27/05/2007 23:45

Not sure really. Cappucino's list for todays meals included asparagus brocolli and kale so there's a chance some varieties of fruit are OK. I wonder if you can take supplements on this plan? Have you started on the folic acid yet if you are planning another (lucky you- I loved being pregnant!)

Report
paulaplumpbottom · 28/05/2007 00:17

I have been taking it for a year. I've had three miscarriages this year so I'm feeling anxious about trying again. I loved being pregnant to. Well, most of the time.

I don't know about supplements, I only take the folic acid anyway.

What are you going to do about your DH and little ones? Will he be eating the same?

Report
mangojuice · 28/05/2007 08:34

No, they'll be sticking to usual meals. I can't do the detox fully as I'm breastfeeding my ds at the mo, but I'm going to try and be good with my choices and will cut out other drinks except for water. So sorry to hear about your mc's Paula, it's understandable that you'll be anxious. Life sucks sometimes.

I don't understand - why torture yourself?
I am at WW have lost 4 stone since Oct when stop breast feeding (2 stone to go). I eat pretty much what i want. Their double chocolate fudge pudding is delicious & I have that as my treat. Just drink plenty of water and hot water with lemon instead of tea / coffee. For my caffine I have sugar free red bull (its my only vice!!)
I REALLY didn't think I'd EVER say it but how easy its been.

I think for me while I do need to lose some weight its mostly becasue I do feel sluggish and think this might help

Report
Cappuccino · 28/05/2007 18:21

hello everyone

again no fruit but bananas

littlepickle I have done ww but as I said on the previous thread I am doing this as a desperate measure to try and get rid of my thrush, I am not doing it to lose weight (am still at goal anyway). And tbh I am actually finding it (tho only 2 days in admittedly) easier than WW with all the faffy counting

breakfast better this morning as I whizzed the crackly horrid muesli up with the banana and yogurt and then had millet cornflakes which were surprisingly nice

stirfried spring greens and broccoli for lunch with rye bread

dh's roast chicken with roast carrots and squash for tea

have been a bit tired but I didn't expect to kick coffee without a fuss!
