Which is best? Full fat yoghurt or low fat yoghurt?

Yoghurt gurus, help me decide!

With the recent revelation that low fat products are pumped with sugar and that fat is actually good for us. I'm now confused over the situation. I did buy some yogurt that I thought was the best option but it was set like, a tub of creme fraiche (sic) if you like!

Any thoughts would be much appreciated!

Hiya, I would say that plain yoghurt is healthiest (e.g. not with fruit or any sugar or sweeteners), then you can sweeten it yourself with fresh fruit. Whether it's low fat or full fat is not so important as long as there's NO added sugar/sweeteners. I personally prefer full fat but don't eat a lot of it. If you're trying to lose weight then low fat plain would be preferable. Hope that helps and is not tooo confusing. Best wishes

Full fat

Fat is necessary in our diets..... Fillers ( which replace the fat in 'low fat' ) have no nutritional value

Full fat plain yogurt. Then you are in charge of any additions/how much, be it fruit/honey/nuts/jam etc and can control the amount of sugar or eliminate it altogether if you like.

I don't think it matters - just check the labels to make sure no added sugar and try a few to see which you like best. I'm fond of Sainsbury's Greek yoghurt myself.
