We watched Team Sky and Brad win the Tour de France, we're watching Froome in the Vuelta (bless him) and we took an Ode to the Olympic Time Trial (which inspired them to win medals grin).

And now (to fill the massive hole left by the superb Olympics and Paralympics) from Sunday we can watch Team Sky and Team GB cycling heros here in the UK!

I thought I'd start this thread for lusting supporting our team faves and having a laugh.

TOB starts this Sunday 9th Sept!

TOB website here

Stage 1 Ipswich to Norfolk - Live on ITV4 from 1.45pm with highlights at 8pm <hoping Chris Bordman is commenting>.

The rest of the stages are also live everyday on ITV4 with highlights at 7pm.

Squeeeeeee! We are just about to leave for Norfolk Showgound, hope we get a good place to watch Cav win! Hoping SO hard that he wins!

HalfMumHalfBiscuit Sun 09-Sep-12 12:36:27

You are joking me Evil. Sooooo jealous envy.

Have a brilliant time. Hope the weather is OK. Give a wink to Wiggo and Cav for me.

They are near ish me tomorrow. Let me know if it is worth me bunking off work going to watch it!

Looking forward to kicking DS off the telly so I can watch!

lljkk Sun 09-Sep-12 12:50:17

We are going to see them today; DH & DS1 will see them twice, hopefully, they just cycled off. A lot of cyclists heading down our road this afternoon (we are about 5 miles from nearest pass point). <<Squee!>>

maybenow Sun 09-Sep-12 12:52:14

I was all set to watch Tuesday's stage in person but our car needs to go to the garage and can't be trusted on out of town journeys sad angry

KatyMac Sun 09-Sep-12 12:53:21

They are about to go past the end of our road

DD & DH are watching

HalfMumHalfBiscuit Sun 09-Sep-12 14:09:24

Great it's started on ITV4.

lljkk - enjoy!
maybenow - gutted for you
KatyMac - hope you were cheering. (wonder if I saw you on telly!)

Really nice to see cycling on british roads with lots of support too.

HalfMumHalfBiscuit Sun 09-Sep-12 14:10:34

Lovely day for a bike ride too.

lljkk Sun 09-Sep-12 15:04:02

Aw Nuts, I managed to not film the main field whizzing by. angry

They were so LOUD though. Haven't noticed that before, the loud whishing of so many spokes & cranks. I think the sound of helicopter usually drowns it out (but no copter today?). DS definitely spotted Cav.

HalfMumHalfBiscuit Sun 09-Sep-12 15:28:33

Great lljkk, glad you could see them.

Just in shock after so many crashes today and the horrendous crash at the finish. OMG. Poor Cav. So unlucky! He had a face like thunder as he went down the final straight.

Well done Luke Rowe though.

About half the peloton down today, crazy.

HalfMumHalfBiscuit Sun 09-Sep-12 15:31:03

sorry lljkk - meant good your DS could see them grin

HalfMumHalfBiscuit Sun 09-Sep-12 15:32:26

And the award will be presented by Alan Partridge...

KatyMac Sun 09-Sep-12 15:40:17

Nope - I sat on DH's exercise bike and watched through our bedroom window

But DH & DD were on the pavement waving & cheering

5madthings Sun 09-Sep-12 15:44:59

i am in norwich but couldnt get to see them today and am gutted sad shall watch on tv later. do annoying that it coincided with dp doing a double shift at work today and so having no transport sad

5madthings Sun 09-Sep-12 15:46:29

ooh just flicked through and found it on tv!

HalfMumHalfBiscuit Sun 09-Sep-12 15:49:19

Thats a shame 5madthings. The finish is 1.5 hours drive from me tomorrow but Knowsley park closes at 1.30pm and I am supposed to be at work!!!! eek how to maintain the work / team sky obsession balace.

HalfMumHalfBiscuit Sun 09-Sep-12 15:50:44

sorry 5mad, see my first post. You can watch live or watch the highlights later, both on ITV4. I think you can also watch online.

5madthings Sun 09-Sep-12 15:55:55

i have itv4 +1 on at the moment. and have just txt dp to moan at how crap it is he is at work. would have been great to see but i couldnt get all five kids up to shiwground without numerous bus trips etc. its nice watching it on tv and seeing places i know smile

HalfMumHalfBiscuit Sun 09-Sep-12 15:57:31

Enjoy 5mad. The last bit is the most exciting. A lot less hassle to watch from the sofa. That is also part of my thinking for tomorrow.

5madthings Sun 09-Sep-12 16:12:12

4km to go. a few little crashes and lots of pushing and shoving! it is easier to watch on tv it may have been a bit of a nightmare out with five children!

5madthings Sun 09-Sep-12 16:15:36

poor cavendish sad

HalfMumHalfBiscuit Sun 09-Sep-12 16:18:21

Afwul crash for Cav. sad

evilgiraffe Sun 09-Sep-12 17:53:58

I was there! Behind someone else's small boy, about 40m from the finish. Great for Luke Rowe, but poor Cav. When the news came over the tannoy the massive crowd of people just groaned - so disappointed for him sad I did see him, though, angry thunderous face and all. Do you have any idea what happened to cause the crash? I could only see a tiny bit of the big screen, but what I saw made it look like it might have been Cav at fault?

Just got to try and persuade DH to get on the train next weekend and go see the finish in Guildford...
