Isolating

I was a close contact so have been isolating for 14 days, tested positive and started having symptoms 10 days ago so technically I can end isolation tomorrow
However my partner and two of my kids tested positive on Saturday, the kids have been isolating for as long as I have, I just hadn't tested them until then.
Do I need to continue isolating until their 10 days is up?

As long as your symptoms have gone (except loat of smeell/taste and cough) you’re free to go out. They day you tested positive is day 0, and it’s after 10 day you can go out.

This is confusing for me as well. I though if you were a household contact you had to isolate. There would be no point in doing another PCR as it wouldn't be accurate. You could end up isolating for ages if say you had 5 kids

If you are vaccinated you don’t need to isolate anyway.

I have 4 kids, two of which are still testing negative so every chance they could test positive in the next coming days.
I just wish I knew so I can take the dog out for walks again!

Yes, you’ve finished your isolation and are free to stop isolating and can go outside, as long as you feel well enough.

Once you finish isolating you don't need to extend it if the others are testing positive within your isolation period.

Yep you can go out after your isolation period ends. We all have covid. Dp had it first last weekend so he's back to work tomorrow. The rest of us have several days of isolation left 😪

It's 10 days from when symptoms start or testing positive if no symptoms.

Your free to not isolate once you have done your isolation period
Your other family members have to do theirs from day tested positive or symptoms though so will remain in isolation until there is up

You can go out once yours finishes, but the kids and partner have to start their isolation from the day they tested positive (or day their symptoms started if they have them

So just please don’t send the kids who are positive to school sooner than that on the basis they “probably” had it earlier or anything like that.

You can go out when your isolation ends. My daughter got it first in our house and can go back to school on Friday. I’m allowed out on Saturday and my son on Monday. The other 2 members of the household have remained negative so far.

This is really our of date. Household contact no longer need to isolate if they are under 18 or fully vaccinated.
