Suspected Omicron case within child’s year group

Apologies I’m sure this has been asked many times but we’ve just received an email to advise there is a suspected case of Omicron in our primary aged daughter’s year group & that it is advised that all children within that year get a PCR test even without symptoms. Sorry if I’m being a bit daft but do we have to keep her away from school until we receive the results? The implication from the advice on the email is we don’t but in my head it wouldn’t make sense to send her back until we have the results back? 🤷‍♀️

Morning, OP. Just bumping this thread for you in case someone's about here this morning who knows the answer to this.

There's no need to isolate until you get the results. Isolation only applies if you have symptoms while awaiting the pcr back. The rules for possible Omicron cases changed last week.

A local school sent all of y6 home to isolate due to omicron case last week. I think the rules may have changed now though 🤷‍♀️ Your school should be able to advise.
