We were at Whipsnade yesterday and this boy was weeing up against a tree with his mum right there, no discretion or anything. And he was about 6/7 so not a toddler.

Suppose when a guy's gotta go ...

I didn't particularly want to watch this child sitting on a potty and I have young children. I can't imagine what someone without kids, or with grown up kids would have reacted.

Do you think it's ok?

If a child says "I need a wee/poo" and then cannot hold on for at least a few minutes before a convenience is found, they are not ready for toilet training, IMO

the toilet is very clearly marked and it would have taken them about two minutes to get there.

If he can't wait two minutes, perhaps he's not ready to be out of nappies.

If they felt the need to put him on the potty at all, could they not have gone around the side of tescos to be a tad more discreet? They were IN THE ENTRANCEWAY to a major supermarket.

It's not the fact that he was on a potty, it's where the potty was!

not bothered at all actually. when I am training them am much more pleased that they ask to go - take the attitude that it is only like that for a couple of weeks at most and then I can move onto the dash for the loo.

I wouldn't have objected at all to a small child using a potty in the middle of a park.

It was the close proximity to the actual toilets, and the fact that they were in the farking entranceway!

At least if they had been in the deli section, less people would have seen

Im with Much Less Tired Now. What's the big deal? Parenthood is hard enough without people judging for you petty little transgressions. Also, there was a time when people would have had the same attitude towards bf in public.

slight, well a major detour here on this, outside the entrance to my local tesco last night a woman was raped .
now its not a small tesco, it is a 200,000sq footer +, a giant store with a security guard kust inside the door and people going in and out all the time yet this woman was raped close by.

weeing in a pot is insignificant compared to this though
