On Friday we were in a local cafe, there are two comfy sofas (( Exhibit A )) and we sat down around the same time as two older ladies. We sat chatting for around 10 minutes when a third lady turned up to meet the other two sat down (( exhibit B ))

She immediately started stripping around because there wasn't room for her to.sit down with her friends, glaring at me and my friend, shaking her head and tutting and making a big show.of grabbing a chair from across the room and bringing it over. Even her friends were visibally shocked at her rudeness. Had this not happened I'd have got up.when I clocked she was with the other 2 and moved but this behaviour just made me want to.grind my arse into.the sofa and wax lyrical about how comfy it was.

But what did my friend do when I was in the loo ?? She gathered our stuff together and moved to a smaller table AND gave the lady our free chocolates. Basically killed her with kindness 😑😑😑
(( exhibit C ))

Anyways, would I have been unreasonable to lie across the sofa and feed myself chocolate cake because of the ladies rudeness ??

I feel on my phone I'm missing some of the nuance of the pictures as they're a bit small, but on balance I'd have to say YANBU.

What on earth was your friend thinking? I would have stayed there, eating chocolate, until I was ready to go.

Love the drawings!

Yep. I wanted to sit and have a long, long, loooooooooonnnnnnngggggg drink and a gossip after the ridiculous display she put on. It was ridiculous.

She wouldn't even let me suggest to her that there's no need to.behave like.a stroppy toddler and generally if you're nice to.people you get good things back. 'Because they were old'.

This has rankled me since Friday. 😑😑😑

Oh YANBU!

You need to go out and drop some litter or urinate in someone's front garden to restore the balance.

I like your friend and how she could not be bothered over pettiness about a seat in a coffee shop.

Old people can be just as bad as anyone else and being old doesn't mean you get away with tantrums! In general I see better behaviour from DC when I'm out then I do from old people (not saying this is always the case but seems to be in my area) things like DC holding doors open and people walking through without saying thankyou, old people queue jumping, DC picking things up when someone has knocked stuff off a shop shelf and just carried on walking. I always make a point of loudly saying thankyou when I've seen someone else go through a door and not say it, and if it's a child then I say how kind they are for doing it too. If I'm the one holding the door (or whatever) and someone doesn't say thankyou I will say "thankyou!" or "you're welcome!" loudly more often than not sometimes my confidence let's me down I always try to say something when I see a child doing something kind that they don't need to do, they are more likely to do it again in the future

I would have been the first to jump up for that lady in your situation, but if she did a display like that then I would have ignored her as I ignore all tantrums! She needs to be taught some manners and the saying - you catch more flies with honey!

Where did you get the free chocolates from? Did the cafe give them to you? I never get free anything!

OP, exhibit A shows yourself and friend with pizza and coke, and the 2 ladies with coffees.
But exhibit B clearly shows the pizza plates as absent, and the ladies are now drinking soft drinks.
Further, these "free" chocolates appear to be absent from both exhibit A and B.
Are you SURE of all your facts? Hmm

Your friend gave away your chocolates?! Shock

You should have scoffed chocolate cake and then lay on the sofa and pretended to have a little nap. Really annoy her.
