I've got loads, my friend thinks I'm a cheapskate says she always chucks hers in the recycling.

I thought that was the point of them?

OneWithTheForce Thu 02-Mar-17 11:40:21

Why not? Seems a good idea to me.

we do

PurpleDaisies Thu 02-Mar-17 11:40:54

I thought that's why they were shaped like that. It's just wasteful to get rid of them.

UrethaFranklin Thu 02-Mar-17 11:41:02

Lots of people use them in that way, I also thought that was the point of them.

Noodoodle Thu 02-Mar-17 11:41:17

That IS the point of them! Friend is being silly. I always buy those ones if they're on special, specifically to keep them after. They're perfectly sized. Carry on!

IamFriedSpam Thu 02-Mar-17 11:42:03

I still use some as glasses that were originally nutella pots 10 years ago at uni! (They've survived three international moves). I don't like being wasteful!

All my glasses are Nutella jars!

Snowflake65 Thu 02-Mar-17 11:43:10

I use them too, if you keep the lids they are good for transporting breakfast to work, things like yogurt and granola etc

WatchingFromTheWings Thu 02-Mar-17 11:43:52

I use them as drinking glasses too.

Snugglepalace Thu 02-Mar-17 11:44:06

Ah I'm glad I'm not the only one. Although I'm such a bloody Nutella addict I've got the glasses coming out my ears!

StillaChocoholic Thu 02-Mar-17 11:44:28

I use them for candles but drinks glasses are a pretty good idea 💡

KavvLar Thu 02-Mar-17 11:44:39

Just warn any guests with nut allergies is all I'd say.

Thefitfatty Thu 02-Mar-17 11:44:45

We do. I love them.

NinaMarieP Thu 02-Mar-17 11:46:47

My parents have quite a few of them but I tend to buy the bigger jars as they are better value after all (it has nothing to do with there being more chocolate inside...)

AnarchyKitty Thu 02-Mar-17 11:46:49

I keep the glass that candles come in. A hot cycle through the dishwasher and voila, glasses, vases, and the ones with lids for cotton wool, bathroom stuff, the possibilities are endless!

TheOnlyLivingBoyinNewCork Thu 02-Mar-17 12:25:50

The ones with the white plastic popover lid? They ARE drinking glasses, with nutella in. That's the actual point of them.

glitterglitters Thu 02-Mar-17 12:31:07

My flat mate from Morroco used to do this. Never bothered me. Thought it was quite a French thing to do 😂👌🏼

Hygellig Thu 02-Mar-17 12:45:58

We do, I thought that was the idea of them.
We have to buy the massive jars now as children are Nutella fiends.

incredibule Thu 02-Mar-17 12:48:29

The French think it's an insult to be given a drink in a 'mustard glass' IME. smile

TheCountessofFitzdotterel Thu 02-Mar-17 12:49:51

I do it because I can't bear to waste them but actually they annoy me - too small.

TheCuriousOwl Thu 02-Mar-17 12:51:11

Definitely use as glasses!

The other good thing they are useful for is containing half a tin of soup. They are exactly the right size for half a tin, when you want to eat half and keep half in the fridge.

peoplepleaser70 Thu 02-Mar-17 12:52:00

I do it, they are also great for overnight oats x

gamerchick Thu 02-Mar-17 12:56:45

That is the point of them. How has your friend not twigged?

I love Nutella but dislike palm oil. wish it didn't have it in.

Chasingsquirrels Thu 02-Mar-17 12:59:57

I've also got a few candle jars as glasses, along with a malteaser spread one. Just look like some of my other, brought, glasses.
