Even the Purple One, tasteless, how? Why? When? And what can I eat instead?

They're awful. We're choosing a different type next year. End of an era Sad

Nooooo don't say that! I bought the extra big tin!

Why? What have they done to them Mmmmmm purple one!

ArmySal · 23/12/2016 20:02

Agreed, they taste awful now.

Completely agree. When the purple ones and green triangles aren't good something's gone horribly wrong. And don't get me started on the new Roses wrappers...

Yeah Sad

I'm not massively into Christmas traditions but this one does make me feel a bit sad.

Given up on them, they're vile now. Sainsburys selection tub or the big selection box that M&S do for £5 are much better.

Peppa I only got given them today or would have warned people earlier. Purple ones as we loved them are dead, soft and nothingy. Luckily DH has just found a spare chocolate orange ( guess that's one less present ds is getting from Santa.

Yes, not that keen on the Waitrose selection box though, sure that used to be better!

Totally understand. We've got Toffifee and Jelly Tots this year Grin

Have they put bloody palm oil in them?

Report
MrsMattBomer · 23/12/2016 20:11

I've never liked the purple ones.

We've bought Miniature Heroes this year.

Report
FrameyMcFrame · 23/12/2016 20:11

Yes I was most disappointed with my tub.
Got a cadburys hero some now but it's just not the same.
I loved the old tins, still have a few in the garage...

We also scoffed eaten Milk Tray and Terrys All Gold - both tasteless

Report
DramaInPyjamas · 23/12/2016 20:14

Roses and Milk Tray have been messed about with too much as well - all the old favourites gone and replaced.

Pigflewpast · 23/12/2016 20:26

Ooh Toffiffee, not had those for years. Just looked, yes there's bloody palm oil in there. Presumably in place of whatever made them so good before. MrsMatt you should run - how could you not like the Purple One?! They've messed with Heroes as well I think 😱

Quality Street is rubbish now, even the fudge is tasteless and watery.

Roses are now so bad, I actually spat the coffee one out. And I love coffee creams. Also, the new wrappers are awful. We liked the coloured cellophane.
We've already said we're never buying them again.

I bought 4 lots of cadburys heroes. Ate some of one box and they were awful and had me up in the night with a bad stomach.

I have rung the number on the box and they have sent a Freepost label to send them back and are going to refund me.

Only twirl and snowbites taste OK to me now!

Serialweightwatcher · 23/12/2016 20:31

I've refused to buy them since they got rid of my favourite toffee for some grotty honeycomb thing a few months ago - years ago they were lovely but not been keen for a while anyway so that was a gamechanger! Having celebrations and heroes now Grin

Yup, gave up on Quality Street a few years ago and then had a purple one yesterday when offered at work - certainly did not make me rush out and buy them :( I want retro Quality Street - when they were QUALITY)
