Because I bloody feel like the whole world can. head says it's bodies not listening hmm

Damselindestress Sun 16-Oct-16 19:18:36

No one else will notice. People see you as a whole person rather than focusing on small details and they are probably too caught up in their own worries anyway. Do you have issues with body image?

Alfiedoggy Sun 16-Oct-16 19:19:17

Probably! !!!!!!!

Lupinlady5 Sun 16-Oct-16 19:21:32

I can see a 3lb weight gain on myself, but I have a small frame so 3lb is quite a lot for me to gain

19lottie82 Sun 16-Oct-16 19:22:09

You're being ridiculous OP.

FleurThomas Sun 16-Oct-16 19:24:22

I have a 4-6 pound daily fluctuation. Due to water weight, meals, constipation etc. You can't see it though and all clothes fit the same.

Fanfeck Sun 16-Oct-16 19:24:24

Jesus I can gain and lose 10lbs without anyone noticing

Alfiedoggy Sun 16-Oct-16 19:25:46

With clothes on no one would notice I should imagine but clothes off ???

Madeyemoodysmum Sun 16-Oct-16 19:30:34

I don't notice until it's about 7lb. Then waists get tight.

OfaFrenchmind2 Sun 16-Oct-16 19:31:21

It all depends. You can also have a very temporary weight gain just before your period, can be 1- 1.5kg sometimes. If this bother you a lot, monitor your weight, but no more than once a week at the most.

Frankly most of the time you cannot see it, unless you are a hobbit. Do not beat yourself up about that!

Emberfirefly Sun 16-Oct-16 19:31:49

You might see it if you are used to examining yourself everyday but most people wouldn't really notice and I doubt anyone else would notice it on you. I can't imagine it's enough to make any difference to your clothes size, are you sure it's not just a bit of bloating and water retention?

BeautyGoesToBenidorm Sun 16-Oct-16 19:32:41

I'm the only one who notices. I try not to - I've had issues with disorded eating in the past.

acornsandnuts Sun 16-Oct-16 19:34:24

It's s lot on me. It goes on my upper body and is so obvious

Hassled Sun 16-Oct-16 19:37:20

I think it depends on your frame - if you're petite and very slim, I reckon 3lb would show.

Alfiedoggy Sun 16-Oct-16 19:38:49

5ft 4 and normally 9st...on new hormone tabs and they're making me feel quite fed up sad

cardibach Sun 16-Oct-16 19:40:36

Bollocks can you.

Libitina Sun 16-Oct-16 19:40:43

I can easily fluctuate that in a day, but I'm a size 18/20 so no, it doesn't notice on me.

HanYOLO Sun 16-Oct-16 19:41:13

no-one else is bothered how much you weigh, or how much you look like you weigh - at all
lots of people can weigh 3lb less in the evening than they did in the morning.
please don't beat yourself up about the weight of 3 glasses of water.

museumum Sun 16-Oct-16 19:42:07

I often gain 3lbs between waking up and going to bed. I certainly can't see it.

RealityCheque Sun 16-Oct-16 19:43:28

Anyone who says they can notice such a small amounts is talking absolute bullshit and clearly has some kind of body issues.

It just isn't possible - the average body will vary by more than this much during ordinary life.

Absolute madness.

Alfiedoggy Sun 16-Oct-16 19:43:38

Thank you all smileI need to get out more...

talksensetome Sun 16-Oct-16 19:43:48

I can notice 3lb on me I am 5ft 2 and 8st 8 so it is quite a lot for me.

daisiesinherfootsteps Sun 16-Oct-16 19:44:05

At risk of sounding flippant, 3lb could be the difference between a couple of bowel movements or period/water retention. Noticeable weight change on a small child, not so much on a fully grown adult, no matter how petite.

stillwantrachelshair Sun 16-Oct-16 19:47:19

Yes! In the last three weeks, I have stopped running (knee problems) and have been out a lot and eating a lot more rubbish than normal and drinking. I have only put on 2lbs. However, I have had to go back to my "fat" jeans as my usual jeans won't do up. My thighs & hips are larger than they were & I am horribly bloated. The bloat will disappear quite quickly, the thighs & hips only when I start watching what I eat & running. It is definitely noticeable to others.
I'm 5'4" and have gone from 10st4 to 10st6 so from very top of healthy BMI to 2lbs into overweight.

twoboots1 Sun 16-Oct-16 19:48:21

Hormones tend to really make you feel bloated so though the weight gain is modest, most of what you are feeling is the bloating. They can also cause fluctuations in your mood, hence you are probably feeling more vulnerable and aware of the weight gain.
I hope this helps you rationalise what is happening.
