AIBU?

Tayto Crisps

AIBU to think that DM/DF, DSibs should not steal my Tayto crisps. They are one of my few luxuries and due to my allergies their treats are left unmolested while mine are constantly raided. Anytime I raise this issue they either laugh it off or guilt trip me into "sharing" them (sharing normally goes both ways)

Definitely not unreasonable. When I get my hands on taytos I don't let me partner anywhere near them (we live in England and he's English). He doesn't get any more enjoyment from them then say walkers which are readily available so i maintain he doesn't deserve them.

That's pretty crap of them Consent when you are limited in what you can have. Locked press might help.

It depends, if you live in Ireland it's a bit annoying, if you live in England/Scotland/Wales and have to travel to the nearest big city with an Irish section in the supermarket it's really annoying, if you live somewhere tayto has to be shipped in the YANBU!

Real Tayto crisps or those Nordie abominations? Wink

Amalfimamma · 03/10/2016 22:15

It depends....if said Tayto are Northerners or Free Staters. "Same" company, completely different taste.

Oinky - You've hit the nail on the head! Have to go to one supermarket to get them or have relatives ship them over! Angry

Southern ones definitely taste better-God bless Applegreen! I'd be annoyed if someone swiped my Tayto and I live where they are freely available-the fact that you have a limited and infrequent supply means YADNBU Grin

Maud/Amal to my knowledge I've never had the nordie version. Trust them to cock up tayto's though Grin

Here in Scotland they are available in the foreign food section in Tesco's beside the American food/drink.

Admittedly it is the Norn version of tayto.

There was some available in an ASDA near me but alas it closed and the supply was cut off

Crisps are a serious matter. I would not be tolerating this.

I don't live near any cities, but now I want to do a proper Tayto study.

Might out myself but I grew up beside Tayto Castle. Tandragee smells of Tayto crisps but they are FAR superior to the other Tayto Wink Smile

Another heretic here who prefers Norn Tayto. Have you tasted Tayto's Rough Cuts yet? Best. Crisps. Ever.

Report
Lovewineandchocs · 03/10/2016 22:38

I do like the Tandragee ones as well. When I was about 10 I found something that I thought was chewing gum in the bottom of a bag of Tayto. I wrote and complained, sending the offending lump of stickiness back, they got it analysed and determined that it was Mastik which had fallen off one of their machines Hmm anyway, they sent me 3 massive boxes of Tayto crisps and for some reason some massive bars of Dairy Milk as well. I thought Christmas had come early! Grin

Lovewine - I may "find" something in my next bag after hearing that Wink

Did you know Stephen Hutchinson feeds the seconds to his polo ponies. Mangers full of crisps. Lucky buggers.

Yes, do 😀 And hide the boxes well away from your family Grin

Oh God I want Tayto now! I don't live near an Asda! :(

Tayto are grim, but seeing you're limited then others nicking then is wrong.

You could move in with me, guarantee I won't nick them.

Report
Pangur2 · 03/10/2016 23:00

Grim?! They are the best crisps ever, how dare you! :-P
