Cope at being up this time on a Sunday morning?

I'm a snarling, feral subhuman until I've had at least 2 cups. Brew

I like waking up. Don't need coffee but a cup of tea is a nice little hug.

I do drink coffee buy only decaf. I don't drink any caffeine at all and honestly I feel much better for it. I used to need it to function regardless of the time!

I hate coffee but like a cup of tea in the morning. I do feel I miss out compared to people who love coffee!

Tea.
And no choice in the matter. Ds thinks 04:00 is morning.

Hate tea and coffee. I got straight in the shower when I get up, it's the only way I feel awake.

Juice or water are fine for me. I hate coffee and only have tea on weekends as DH is addicted to it so makes me endless cups

I like a milky coffee but often don't get around to it until I've been up for an hour or more. Generally up at 5.30-6.30 every day but I go to bed very early. I do feel for people who struggle in the morning as having children must be a real shock to the system.

A nice cup of tea in my extra large breakfast mug which I'm sitting in bed drinking now while I'm on Mumsnet.

Tea. I can't stand the taste of coffee. Given the weather here I am having hot samosas and tea in bed with the family (it is what you do in India when it's overcast and rainy). I might actually have to get out of bed in the next 20 mins because the DC are causing mild havoc. Ugh.

I react really strongly to caffeine and it makes me feel awful - jittery and heart palpitations. I like the taste of coffee but don't often drink it - decaf sometimes. So I have water in the mornings!

Been up since 6.15 and I'm pregnant so no caffeine for me. I admit I find it painful - but it's tea that I miss. I have my quota later in the day else I'm failing by about 2pm!

Your body becomes reliant on the caffeine if you have it regularly. It just makes less 'wake up hormones' because it's anticipating the caffeine with the fake stuff.

I rarely have tea or coffee and yes I'm often tired but at least if I do have a coffee it really works.

Stella I've been up since 6.30. I'm only now feeling human enough to post Grin

Coke in the morning would make me vomit!

Wow 8.30am is a 2 hour lie in, in this house youngest is always up at 6.30am. And I don't drink tea or coffee but always feel a bit more awake after a nice glass of apple juice. So guess I'm substituting caffeine for sugar.

Having said that I've drunk mocka before now and it leaves me buzzing. Don't think I could drink coffee on a regular basis. But I guess it's what your body gets used to.

I switched to decaf when pregnant and only have decaf coffee now - I still need it to wake me up in the morning, even though the effect is entirely psychological!
