To ask what's the stupidest thing you have done?

Yesterday i drove my car into our living room.
I'm so mad at myself for the sheer stupidity of what I've done, i was parking the car and pressed gas instead of brake.
Ny DH has been amazing and is rebuilding the outer wall as I type (I'm putting the LO down for a nap).
It took all day yesterday to get the living room back to some kind of normal, plumber fixed the leaking radiator pipes, me and DH put the inner wall back to where it was, still need to finish it though.

I was incredibly lucky though as no one was hurt (LO was inthe car with me, rear facing car seat) and the house being so "soft" meant that the car only got very minor damage (which no doubt will be very expensive to fix), but is ok to drive for now.
And the living room window didn't break!

Please tell me you have done something similarly stupid! Help me stop kicking myself.
Or alternatively tell me how bloody stupid it was... Either way

I sat on my arm chair by the window (it was a old armchair) I leaned back quite forcefully and it tipped back and smashed the window😳 This was a good few years ago when the windows were not double glazed.
I was also in a rush one day and slammed my front door shut and the glass from the front door shatterd and all came out! Lol

Oh no OP! Of course you feel daft, but really, it's an accident. People do tiny stupid things all the time, except most of the time, it doesn't matter. If you'd have hit the wrong peddle parking on the road, chances are you'd have gotten away with it.

I've done plenty of mad stuff. I had a white top on the other night and got sauce (tomato) on my hand and watched myself wipe it off straight down my front. No reason, just bonkers. I've touched the electric hob to see if it was hot (it was). As a teenager old enough to know better I got in trouble for damaging a netball hoop. It wasn't deliberate, I lifted it out of the base to see how heavy it was and if I could pick it up. Of course, once it was clear of the base it was top heavy and I couldn't hold it and it crashed to the ground to the screams and then incredulous looks of about fifty of my peers. Mortifying. And I have no explanation.

Probably the 'what ifs' of having your dc in the car is making it worse, and understandably so. Once the house is put back together, time will stop you kicking yourself I'm sure, but go easy on yourself in the meantime. Flowers

I flooded my German friend's flat while staying with her. She was at work. It dripped through to the floor below and believe me, my German is not up to dealing with an apoplectic nonagenarian in a tizzy about water coming through his ceiling.

Let an incredibly shit tattoo artist do not one but TWO large pieces on me because I was scared of her.
At least you can fix your house Op, I can't wear backless dresses out of the fear I'll end up on one of those crap tats features on social media.

I do stupid stuff all the time. Though not quite as spectacular as your example. Yet...
I did open a window too forcefully and pushed the whole thing out of the frame :/ and I broke our sofa because I prefer to throw myself onto it rather the sit nicely. Not overweight before anyone asks!

As a teenager I did the most ridiculously stupid things.

Was sitting on a wall once in the Summer holidays, it was a meet up place but nobody was out yet. A car pulled up with four blokes in and asked me if I wanted to go to a seaside town about 90 mins away...I went with them!

You drove you car into your living room and your DH is just rebuilding the outer wall? no survey, no insurers, no structural assessment?

Oh, you said "gas" is this not a UK house?

Whilst hitch hiking in Greece got into a car driven by a really really overweight man with no top on. Only after about 10 minutes did I realise he was naked.

Another time a man in a car pulled over and asked for directions to a road I lived on. So I got in the car and directed him.

Fine on both occasions but wtf?

Also, drove into a car whilst looking in a cake shop.

I wanted to see if an electric ring was hot so I put my finger on it.

Mmmm... Barbecue.

Stuck my finger into a car cigarette lighter because 'it didn't look hot'.

Got into a shitton of debt.

I left my electric kitchen scales on the electric hob, which I'd just been using and was still hot. The scales melted and the battery compartment exploded.

DP tried to "race" the automatic garage door when driving his car out of the garage. The door won, the car roof was spectacularly scratched and dented.

Tried to cure the hiccups of the baby I was breastfeeding by shouting 'boo'. It did not help one bit.

Did similar but not so spectacular by reversing into a bollard thinking "hmm must watch the bollard there" and then forgetting to take the car out of reverse

Did the same as a poster above with a car cigarette lighter when I was 15 (touched the actual lighter part though and burnt a nice pattern onto the tip of my finger).

Picked up a wire rack, whilst working as a waitress (ok technically wasn't entirely my fault as it had just been left on the side near dishes for washing up, but I should of recognised that it was the rack from inside the oven that baked the potatoes, that had been on all day before I just grabbed it ).

I got locked in a flat we were renting when I was pregnant with DS1. DH and DSS (who was 15 at the time) were outside the door. DH tried everything to open the door and then ran at it to try and barge it open, it was a security door.. he ended up flat on his back with me and DSS in hysterics laughing :)

Got into passenger seat of boyfriend's car and didn't shut door properly.
He stuck car in reverse, shot back , door flew open and was ripped off by gatepost.

I became an ex girlfriend soon after

Sat down on a roll of carpet protector in a shop. I have no idea why I thought it would make a good seat. It was on a metal frame and the whole thing just rolled backwards leaving me stuck behind it with my legs in the air. I was about six I think.
Managed to sew myself to my college project. Had to go to A&E to get the needle removed from my finger. I was a "mature" student Blush Blush

Got my tongue stuck to the inside of an ice box (you know, those tiny freezer compartments at the top of old fridges) when I was about 6 or 7. Oh, how my mother laughed. I, however, did not.

Also did a running jump through the french doors one day when I was around 10. They were closed at the time.

Again, around the age of 10, I grabbed hold of the tong end of one of those gas-powered hair curling tongs/brush things, to prove that they weren't hot, as the younger child who had been playing with them claimed. They were, in fact, extremely hot and I ended up with a beautiful blister pattern in the shape of the brush head all over my head.

I was rather a stupid 10 year old.
