Just curious if people actually win these things! I have been.entering competitions online & from magazines for years, just for fun, when dc are in bed at night. They always show 'last weeks competition winners' ...has anyone here ever won, cash prize or holidays in particular?

I've won quite a few bits over the years, double bed, meals out, holiday Etc.

I don't win much anymore because since the internet made it so easy to enter there's loads more entering every competition.

I won a holiday in a nightclub on my 21st birthday but that's it. Used to enter tv ones when you could do it online for free but don't bother now

Was thinking the same, some hardcore compers out there haha making chances of winning less likely these days.

I've won a few bits. Most recently a nespresso coffee maker and a smeg mixer - both via Facebook.

Not me, but a friend won a Disneyworld (Florida) holiday and my dd has won a ski jacket. Sister of a friend (never met her) won a huge lottery a couple of years ago.
None of their luck seems to have rubbed off me. Yet.

I used to love the gmtv morning competitions for holidays. Back when we all used our landline phones to call and enter

Won £500 on the radio couple of years ago
Won £100 bravissimo vouchers in recommend a friend comp
Won Annie tickets last week on mumsnet local
Won a helicopter flight for one and entry to an expensive country show locally to me
Won a signed book and print and goodies for my dd on a mumsnet comp/thread
Besides the £500 I haven't won anything massive, but I love all the things I win. It makes me all cheery.
I just enter lots of things and aee what happens.
My mum (who also wins lots of smaller things) has been doing chat, take a break and that's life since they launched. She has won £25 from them!! Lots of things from other places though.

I won entries into every race at the Edinburgh Marathon Festival a few years ago. I'd already got a charity place for the half marathon through Macmillan so i was able to give them their money for the place back as well as the fundraising I'd done, which was nice. I think I managed to give away all places except the marathon.

That's about it.

I won loads of lovely prizes the most worth was 2 upper class virgin tickets to anywhere on their route. They were worth over £8,000 and we went to Florida. Stretched out on the huge beds we arrived fresh as daisies..

I've won tv's, hampers, vouchers, days out, toys, jewellery. Holidays in london, belgium, spain. Lots of things for the house.. I won £1000 from three separate completions.ie £3000

Some were slogans , others were draws.

Three friends won a car each.

I don't do them anymore. I took up competitions to help with mh problems and insomnia when I came off Valium. I'd go to bed thinking of the latest tie breaker/ slogan and that stopped me obsessing over the fact I couldn't sleep.

You don't see so many slogan ones now.

My brother enters loads of competitions. It's like a hobby to him.
He has won two mountain bikes (high spec)
A designer watch worth over £1000 (fb comp)
Vouchers for multi stores
Hugo Boss goodies.
I'm sure he's won more stuff, but always gives us a giggle when he's won something.

I've never won big prizes but I've won £200 John Lewis vouchers, £100 supermarket vouchers, some DIY stuff, some beauty stuff etc.

If it's a legitimate competition in eg a well known magazine there will definitely be a winner. You can usually request the details of the winners if you are interested. Obviously not their phone number and address, but a list of names and where they're from.

I had to answer ten general knowledge questions in a minute. I was lucky with the questions, on other weeks I wouldn't have managed.

One friend who won a car, won a fabulous cruise . Ten days round the med and also won 100,000 air miles at least ten years ago which she still hasn't spent. She also won lots of champneys/ spa breaks. We both won in the same comp a trip to London. Two nights in the same hotel in Bloomsbury and tickets to the royal Chelsea flower show. I drove us down and my daughter came too. My husband was working in London and he brought us back.
When she won the car she didn't drive. She won two sets of driving lessons!
Not bad fora lady who left school with no exam certificates.

That was probably over about 15 years and there were a lot of dry spells. I was probably entering about 15 a day while the kids were little

We were in a club so we helped each other out and were very successful.
