To be pisses off at dp for eating my cake?

I baked some cupcakes for family the other day and saved two, one for me and one for dp. They're gluten free as I have coeliacs disease. Dp has loads of treats he can eat that I can't. I was looking forward to having it when ds went to sleep (he's a baby) but dp ate both cakes!

Aibu to be pissed off? And can anyone think of a suitable punishment?

Disclaimer: lighthearted post.

Oh god, typo in the title!

AnchorDownDeepBreath Thu 10-Mar-16 21:37:21

Casually remind him that the cake that's on the left/has special decorations/whatever is yours and you've put a strong laxative in it.

Let him quietly panic. Mwah ha ha.

Lweji Thu 10-Mar-16 21:37:23

He bakes another batch.

Is he suitably apologetic?

Floggingmolly Thu 10-Mar-16 21:37:26

Put laxatives in the next batch, and tell him they're all for him.

Shannaratiger Thu 10-Mar-16 21:38:43

I'm also gluten and dairy free - I would be majorly pissed off.
Hide all their biscuits and anything else he could eat. grin wink

RandomMess Thu 10-Mar-16 21:38:45

YANBU!!!

Hide all of his treats for a long, long time...

Fratelli Thu 10-Mar-16 21:41:32

Ohh all very good ideas!
Lweji no he isn't, he thinks it's amusing!

Lweji Thu 10-Mar-16 21:41:59

Laxatives then. They ARE amusing.

chocomochi Thu 10-Mar-16 21:42:43

Ah, you beat me to the laxative idea!

Ameliablue Thu 10-Mar-16 21:44:40

How could he!
Is he any good at baking?

Champagneformyrealfriends Thu 10-Mar-16 21:45:01

I once bought a particular brand of frozen pizza that I love and wrote my name on the box. I was saving it but DH ate it and I've never forgiven him. That was years ago and I still remind him of it grin

Fratelli Thu 10-Mar-16 21:45:10

I wouldn’t want to eat anything he baked. He once attempted to bake brownies and forgot to add sugar and eggs grin

Arfarfanarf Thu 10-Mar-16 21:45:32

He thinks it's funny that he ate all of what he knew was the only treat in the house that you could eat, even though there are plenty of others he could eat?

I think that's really shitty of him.

Yes it's only cake. Yes cake is trivial. Yes cake is unimportant. But the thought process behind his decision to choose to eat the only treat you could have instead of any of the number of things in the house that he can have and you can't, is a rotten one.

It isn't about the cake. It's about the choice.

I would be really cross, tbh.

Not 'LTB' cross but I'd be cross and I'd be doubly cross that he thought it was funny.

BaggyPantz Thu 10-Mar-16 21:46:14

Next batch: Cake roulette. Tsp of XXXHot chilli powder in a couple of them. Put a slightly different decoration on top so you know not to choose them. Serve and enjoy.

Arfarfanarf Thu 10-Mar-16 21:46:30

I want to slap him with a kipper.

I may need to go lie down.

I'm cross over someone else's cake grin

Fratelli Thu 10-Mar-16 21:51:48

Haha Arf cake is an important matter! It was shitty of him. He's trying to get round it now by saying they were so nice he had to have another one! angry

Baggy that is genius!

YANBU

Totally agree with the laxatives or hot chili idea. Also the hiding of his treats.

Let us know what you go with and how it turns out and whether he still thinks it's funny grin

Fratelli Thu 10-Mar-16 21:57:09

I thinks I'm going to go with the chilli idea as I have all the ingredients! Will report back grin

Pipsqueak23 Thu 10-Mar-16 22:05:43

grin

I'm passed off on your behalf! angry

I think if there are 4 cakes in a box and 4 in the family then you automatically look and take one, that is when everyone can eat everything.

In this case I think he should have left BOTH since its a rare treat for you and it's easy for him to get a treat!

Reminds me of the solitary veggie offering at a buffet and all of the meat eaters taking it before the veggies get there (I'm veggie) angry

I know it's not the same, but here is my first MN cake I checked and it's gluten free grin

Fairylea Fri 11-Mar-16 07:16:28

I would actually be really annoyed. If you can't eat gluten and this cupcake was the one treat available for you to have then him eating it is just selfish and for him to laugh about it I would be really cross! angry

I'd bake some more tomorrow and hide them all and only take one when I wanted one.

MetalMidget Fri 11-Mar-16 08:09:17

LTB!

Fratelli Fri 11-Mar-16 21:06:04

Haha thanks for the gluten free cake!

Well dp clearly feels bad and went to Morrisons and bought me some gluten free rocky road! He's not getting a look in!
