My only real one is to continue running and getting better at it. My maximum at the minute is 5k before I collapse and die, but already I feel better for getting out in the cold and pushing myself.

DH and the DCs don't make resolutions but pick a new country they want to learn about and visit every January, and the task over the following year is to find out as much as they can and to visit that place. Last year's destination was Rome as DS1 studied it at school this year was Barcelona as they wanted to see the Nou Camp. I strongly suspect 2016 will be the year of Vienna as DS1 has already started looking over the Atlas again and keeps leaving it open on that page.

Same resolution I make every year. Lose 15 lbs. I do lose it, though. It's just that it invariably sneaks back on by the end of the year.

Not pay for any more carrier bags - I have them in each handbag, one in my coat pocket, the car boot is heaving with them - now I just need to remember to replace them in these places after each use Wink I have also changed the default setting on my tesco online delivery so the shopping comes without bags Smile

Put my iPhone in the kitchen in the evening and not keep it with me. It rules my life and I hate it!

My main one, that I really must keep, is to make a proper effort to lose weight. I am obese and could stand to lose around 9 stone..a whole person BlushSad

Lots of things have gone on this year, my H suffers from a long term MH condition, I've also suffered with it for the past 12 months, and things have been shitty moneywise etc. I did try to lose weight this year and stuck to SW for 7 weeks, only losing around 10 pounds though. I'm 29 in a couple of months and I promised myself that before I hit 30 I would lose weight. I have 3DC and feel embarrassed at being so big.

Another thing I must do is to get my anxiety under control and start to love myself. I've never particularly liked myself - I hate the way I look, don't think I'm particularly good at anything and feel like I fail at life in general. I get terrible anxiety and it does have an effect on my every day life. All this, partnered with the obesity problem, makes for a very unhappy me. I really want to work on myself this coming year and to be a better person not only for me, but for the DC.

I love the picking somewhere new to learn about and visit Timeto, it sounds brilliant!

I am resolving to not choose any new sticks to beat myself with.

No resolutions. A few plans

I am going to do all the yoga

Keep on running

Drink more wine (am nearly teetotal and I think I would be happier if I were not)

Stop striving

Be in the moment

Choose to be happy

I'm going to fill in and submit the two forms I've had hanging over me for the best part of a year. I'm giving myself until the end of January for that one.

For the rest of the year I want to continue losing weight and trying to take better care of myself mentally as well as physically.

In shallower wants, I fully intend to buy myself a pair of pointless but pretty shoes for my birthday.

Much luck to everyone else with their plans and paths. Hopefully 2016 will be a pleasant beastie to us all.

learn to crochet! I can knit but never got to grips with crochet - left handed so following books is a challenge.

Owlina I can change your life. Get a job in a homeless shelter. A poorly run one if possible. It cured me after decades.

I have resolved today to stop wearing a bra.
I have big bangers so this will be interesting but I am sick to death of the uncomfortable things.
I have been measured properly. I wear the right size. 32F.
They always start off ok but by about 4pm everyday I can't wait to get the bastard thing off.
Life is too short for this shite.
I am just going to wear strong supportive vests instead and have a monoboob. I don't care anymore.

I want to stop trying to look after everyone else around me, I want to try to let my mum and sister look after themselves and stop worrying so much. I want to let someone look after me sometimes and me to look after me too. I don't know where to start with that..

Mine is that by this time next year I'll have a healthy relationship with eating for the sake of my DDs. It'll take me a long time. I'm 32 and have always had a fucked up relationship with food. I'm a healthy weight but starve some days and binge eat others. My daughters eat with me once a day at the very most, often not even that, and nine times out of ten I'm eating something different to them. It makes me sad and scared that I will pass these issues onto them so by next Christmas I just want to be... Normal. To be able to sit and eat a portion of shepherds pie with my family without that meal opening the floodgates and gorging on God knows what else after they've gone to bed. To be able to eat a piece of fruit without it setting off sugar cravings that mean I'll eat a whole bar of dairy milk immediately after. Not drinking just coffee till dinner time which is what I do most days. I just want to be normal, like my girls :-)

I'm going to stop reading the comments section on news articles and the like. It only results in me being angry and upset, it doesn't enrich my life at all. It's a small change but one that I can stick to.

Previous resolutions have been to not spend money on stuff I don't need (semi successful, still an ongoing project) and not turning down invites to any gig (I saw a lot of awesome bands that year that I might never have given chance before).

Eat less, move more, lose 2 stone! Get a job. Make my DC do more activities. Drink less alcohol. Spend less money. Sounds fun, doesn't it?

Run or swim 2016km over the course of the year.
Do something every week that is out of my comfort zone.

2016 is the year I decide if we have another baby. I'm 35 at the end of the year and that is already my cut off for more babies (because of the trisomy issues with dd2 my risk factor rockets, not because I think it's too old before anyone thinks I'm judging Smile )

I'm going to carry on running and want to start doing 10k more regularly.

I'm not going to kill my job share (despite her best efforts to oush me over the edge)

I'm going to get over this ridiculous crush/attraction, fuck knows how though.

Stop using my phone at the dinner table.

Try and do my exercises for my back.

I have a few hopes for 2016 but no other January resolutions

Report
BifsWif · 30/12/2015 09:05

To enjoy what I have.

To put my phone down and spend more time just playing with and enjoying my children.

I'd like to get healthier, stop eating so much junk and hopefully lose this last stubborn stone of baby weight.

Quit smoking. This is the most important to me. I quit easily but start again when I have a drink, so I'm giving up alcohol until I've cracked it.

Mine is a simple one: get my daughter to school when the gates open, every single day.

This is the desired outcome though, and there will need to be a waterfall of things happening first to make it possible: being more tidy and organised at home so everything is ready the night before. Setting alarms for everyone and not ignoring them. Sorting out my son's poo issues (long story). Keeping on top of the laundry. Basically being a much better sahm than I have been! Have only been sahm for one term though so I'm still learning! Wink

BifsWif- giving up alcohol til you've cracked IT sounds like a fantastic idea. I wish my mum would do that as a glass of wine is always what makes her spark up again. Good luck!!Flowers

Thanks Zippy, I need to do it for my babies.

I don't drink at home so I can go for months without one and it really doesn't bother me but as soon as we go out and I have a glass of wine I'm straight back to where I started. Fingers crossed this is the year I finally do it!
