After four years by myself its time to get myself back out there. I have signed up to a couple of the online dating sites so its now time to actually use them.

I also set myself mini monthly targets as I find these easier generally than bigger resolutions. I also find that these stick better long term. For January it is to make sure that the kitchen is clean and tidy before I go to bed. A little thing which I will make a big difference.

To make a positive effort to catch up with people whom I haven't seen for a while - you know, the ones where you exchange Christmas cards saying we must meet up in the new year but it never happens!

Am going to be less stressed and shouty with our nearly 4 yr old. He can test the patient of a saint! Plus am 6 month pg so hormones are crazy.

Am also going to get my leg fixed after pg (varicose veins) and start yoga, swimming and an cardio class. I might even learn to horse riding again.

I've lost a few relatives this year including someone very close so have drunk far too much wine and eaten far too much. And in the last few months have stopped going to the gym. I saw a photo of myself taken recently and I don't like the excess weight and I don't like being quite so happy when I am drinking.

So my New Years resolution is to go back to the gym regularly, no alcohol Monday to Friday when working (Friday evening after work is OK) and to change my diet to be healthier and feel physically better.

. To stop caring about what other's think of me and DS and to live my life.
. To break up with DS dad for good, and not look back
. To go back to Ballet, as I stopped dancing when DS was born
. To stop comparing my life to others and find happiness within my own life

Last year my NY resolution was to do the Couch25k program. Started in Jan '15 and it and did a 10k this month!
This year's resolution is to get a cleaner! Grin

to keep pressing slowly on with the "how best to leave my abusive husband" project Smile

to drink less alcohol (likely related to above) Sad

to be kinder & more understanding to my elderly mother - not that I'm unkind now, but I do think unkind thoughts when she's driving me nuts Grin

Be a more engaged, less shouty and more effective parent

Get the fuck off FB/my phone. Aim to achieve this by keeping a book in my handbag, not taking it into my bedroom and also have a rule that I don't look at it from when I leave work till the kids are in bed.

NotSkinny, 10lbs in 7 weeks is good! I joined SW this year and 'only' lose about a lb a week, sometimes 2. It's really worked for me so could be worth a try again?

Some of these are good. I could definitely do with less time on my phone.

  • pay my credit card off
  • save up for Christmas 2016
  • continue going to the gym 3 x a week
  • continue to lose weight (aiming for 9 stone)
  • play with the DC more - this is the most important one!
  • start having date nights with DH again even if we can't go out, do something at home :)

I have no vices, except crisps and and I'm not giving those up any time soon.

I suppose mine are to stay single and stay happy.

Report
Pixa · 31/12/2015 19:56

Mine are:

  • to learn (and perfect) something on the piano, probably Einaudi as I've started learning something already.
  • to be happy.
