AIBU?

to think that "Dad of twins" is the worst car sticker ever?!

I mean...just why?

I plan to go into business supplying a car sticker saying "so what?" People can then slap these over offending stickers such as the aforementioned and other dullard, self-centred proclamations re the occupant's issue of their loins.

Who's in?! Grin

It's so prosaic.

What's next 'Consumer of toast', 'Watcher of Eastenders', 'Blower of nose', 'Sender of emails'.

It's so the emergency services know to look for an adult male and two small children should there be an accident and one is flung far from the vehicle.

They would also know they had the right adult male by the obviously huge and productive penis.

:nods wisely:

I concur Micah

I agree it's a bit cringe and not something I would have, but could have been a gift from someone, or just someone who's very proud of their new twins!!

It might also make other people aware to park more considerately allowing the car to open doors both sides so they can get the car seats out, so there might actually be a good point to having one!

Many years ago, working in a garage, I knocked up some stickers saying

"My other sticker is funny"

for cars with particularly shit stickers.

No one noticed Grin

I'm getting one: 'Eater Of Crumpets' so the emergency services know to send for a large crane to get me out of the wreckage if I should be trapped in the car.

My car is my little kingdom. I have stickers, dangling things, solar powered waving flowers and yes, I have a mum type sticker in the back. Its no worse than my mum cup at home, or my mum charm on my bracelet.

I have a 'princess on board' one to ensure the emergency services look for my DD's sparkly crown.

I have 'little rascals on board' so that the emergency services know to handcuff them immediately.

Lots of people I see at traffic lights should have 'Nosepicker On Board'.

God, I agree. Cannot bear these hideous things! Do I drive any more carefully because I'm behind a car with one of these bloody things stuck to the window - NO, I try to drive carefully whoever I'm near. As for informing the emergency services there is a child on board, do people then remove the stickers every time they drive without their kids in the car? Thought not. Can you tell I hate them? and might have climbed onto my soap box for 5 minutes there

Anyone remember the Ben Elton routine about these ...

"Don't flaunt your fertility at me !"

Report
Vintagewellies · 06/01/2015 15:45

I hate the new ones which name the child - 'Slow down. Jayden on board'. As if Jayden is more important than any other child in the country.

Report
BarbarianMum · 06/01/2015 15:45

I hate them too. I also have difficulty envisaging the type of accident that catapults a child from the wreckage, renders all the adults in the car unconscious yet leaves the back window and little sticker miraculously intact Hmm

I wanted a car sticker saying two monkeys on board

DH over ruled me

He also overruled the personalised plate available to buy - not my name, just something I liked

And he won't let me have lights oustide the house at Christmas

I guess he has much better taste then me :-)

It's almost as bad as an extended relatives 'Made in England' tattoo. As if the big gold rings and England shirts aren't clues enough for you. God I cringe every time I see it

There's a lady I see in my area with 'Glam Gran on board' she is very -tacky- glam in her hot pink car

I saw one once that said...

"Perfect family on board"

Vomit.

I quite like the 'Glam Gran' one. I'm picturing an elderly Penelope Pitstop.

That has made me laugh.... Bet his partner stuck it on.

Hmm. As long as the car doesn't have eyelashes on the headlights or claim to be powered by fairy dust, it's alright with me.

I saw one that said 'Babe on board' on a car that belonged to a young woman

Glad I'm not alone in my disdain.

Smiling at some of your alternative sticker suggestions. "Strong tea drinker on board" to alert the emergency services to get a brew on post rescuing me.
