IME, Royal Mail are preferable to using Yodel, Hermes etc. More reliable certainly.

Is this about a particular incident or just in general?

my step father isn't a useless thief - he's a hard working postie - yabu

It is about my experiences of them over the years, but particuarly this week. I'm sure they have lots and lots of unhappy customers, not just me.

Could you explain why?

I had a RM thread and it was explained why what I mentioned happened and it made sense

I think that in general they are ok.

Does your father agree with all of their "policies"? He might be hardworking (like the rest of us), but he works for a bunch of idiots.

My postie is lovely and so are the staff at my two nearest post offices.

Two years ago at Christmas time, I accidentally posted an unsealed, unstamped Xmas card to my DB containing a gift card in the post box attached to the post office along with the rest of my properly addressed, sealed and stamped cards.

The very busy lady in the PO, kindly went to collect the mail and sorted through it all until she found the card for my brother. Took her a good ten minutes.

I can only assume you live in a city OP?

maybe if you made more sense I could answer that - you sound very cross

Royal Mail have never put a Hotel Chocolat package in my full wheelie bin, containing nappies among other things, in June, while Hermes have.

That is all.

I breath a sigh of relief when I see something is coming via the Royal Mail rather than, for example, Yodel. Never had a problem with our postie, he's great.

i am glad my dp 'left' the royal mail so i can't get worked up over these threads.

I've never had any problems with them and they deliver stuff every day

Unfailingly polite, hide things really well if I'm not in.

The parcel force guy was really worried that my parcel was tinkling today as he thought it was broken - it wasn't, but he was so nice about it.

Royal mail are hard working and have delivered to me everything that I have ordered .
They also pick up my post to save me taking it to the post box .
So you are wrong

Never had any problems myself. Postman lovely, as is Parcelforce man. Track and Trace is great.

Sorry, I love RM and my postie is fab!

I have never had a parcel lost. I have never had a parcel delivered to the wrong address!

What has happened to upset you? You seem pretty cross! Thanks

Oh! I forgot! The postie that is the dad of an ex-Brownie of mine delivered my parcel of Brownie craft stuff on New Year's Day once. He must have been psychic too as I was going to be away the last other delivery day before the Brownie meeting I needed it for.

So no, they are not.

There are some good people working for RM.

That's all I need to say.

No, you're going to need to say much more than that to get me (and many others) to agree or even sympathise. I've never had any big problems with them, and have had major headaches from Yodel, Hermes and Local Delivery Network. The staff in my local Post Office are friendly and efficient, and my postman is reliable. YABU.

My postie is fab, hides parcels if we're out. If not opens the door and puts them on the mat as he knows it takes me ages to get to the door.

However, they were on strike over DD birthday and she got her cards a gifts a week late.

In the rural areas posties are a lifeline to elderly folk. All very friendly posties here.
