DP has an inflamed knee.

The hospital gave him crutches this morning.

Now while i accept that this probably smarts a little why can't he get his own fucking beer from the fridge especially when i cooked the dinner.

He has got CRUTCHES ffs.

It's good practice not sure how pain relief and beer mixes though.

Yes, I agree YANBU. Surely it would do him good, a little trip on his crutches to practise.

Perhaps you could decline to get his beer anyway if he is on painkillers (is he?) and/or unsteady due to the crutches. Go and get his "beer" but return with a camomile tea instead. grin Much better for him wink

YAB a bit U.

But I only say that as a pregnant woman whose OH has done practically everything for the past 10 weeks.

minimisschief Tue 06-Sep-11 20:42:07

Same way he should do everything when you are ill. Because you shouldn't be so self centered and have a bit of sympathy and a general desire to help someone you love and live with when they need you.

Its not forever

But that's just me YABU

usualsuspect Tue 06-Sep-11 20:43:38

yanbu ...I would crawl to the fridge for wine

TheCrutchlessCunt Tue 06-Sep-11 20:44:08

I suppose he is in a bit of pain but blimey...what a wuss.

LordOfTheFlies Tue 06-Sep-11 20:44:51

Aaaaaahhhh he's got a man injury

When my DS (11.6 and man-in-training) sprained his ankle last year, I popped him on the sofa with a cushion under his leg. Had to carry him to the toilet (downstairs loo thank gawd)
He made me a thank you card <<wells up>>
Sweet- it stopped me killing him when he managed to limp to the sweet jar hmm grin

TheCrutchlessCunt Tue 06-Sep-11 20:45:04

I would crawl over a street full of broken glass for wine.

TheMagnificentBathykolpian Tue 06-Sep-11 20:46:06

Well, if it's bad enough for him to be under the hospital for it and for them to give him crutches, it's probably bad enough to deserve a bit of TLC from his wife.

Get him the bloody beer, you unsympathetic mare grin

aquashiv Tue 06-Sep-11 20:46:10

Did he ask nicely?
If not give his beer a furious shake.grin

AuntieMonica Tue 06-Sep-11 20:46:31

how did he get his injury, OP? hmm

TheCrutchlessCunt Tue 06-Sep-11 20:47:30

I am no man's WIFE.

I said DP.

TheCrutchlessCunt Tue 06-Sep-11 20:48:28

He did it crawling round the attic yesterday getting 'stuff' down for me.

AuntieMonica Tue 06-Sep-11 20:49:47

so he's basically unfit then if getting a few boxes out of the loft gave him an injury?

lazy fucker needs the exercise

AuntieMonica Tue 06-Sep-11 20:50:43

hang on...

why didn't YOU get them out of the loft yourself?

TheCrutchlessCunt Tue 06-Sep-11 20:51:07

I shall tell him just that AuntieM.

Lazy fucker.

TheCrutchlessCunt Tue 06-Sep-11 20:52:33

Because i'm a lazyfucker-- Lady AuntieM.

I don't go crawling around in spider filled attics.

TheCrutchlessCunt Tue 06-Sep-11 20:53:18

Grrr --lazy --fucker

TheCrutchlessCunt Tue 06-Sep-11 20:53:43

<Gives up>

AuntieMonica Tue 06-Sep-11 20:55:04

so he was doing you a favour and now you won't get him a drink?

bit harsh that

ratherblandcunt Tue 06-Sep-11 20:55:08

Bloody hell OP shock

So he hurt himself doing something for you. He's in pain and on crutches because he was being lovely to you.

And you can't even be arsed to get him a beer?

Get into the kitchen reet now.

TheMagnificentBathykolpian Tue 06-Sep-11 20:55:42

Oh, sorry, blush I didn't read properly grin

He deserves some tlc from The Partner Who Is Not His Wife

Get him a beer, you unsympathetic mare grin

SwearyMary Tue 06-Sep-11 20:55:46

I agree, I would crawl over hot coals naked to get to the drinks fridge. Lazy bastard. YANBU.
He can carry the bottle back in his mouth. Dogs manage with bones ffs.

RedOnion Tue 06-Sep-11 20:56:30
