iPhone XS - still worth buying?

Currently own a Samsung A40 but battery is starting to drain and the last few times it's updated it's had major problems opening apps afterwards. I have small hands - 6.5 inch screens are just too big! Most newer Androids seem to be 6.5 inches...so if I'm looking at refurbished older models anyway, the iPhone XS seems an appealing option. But I know nothing about iPhones. I do know I absolutely can't justify the cost of a 12 Mini however much I like the look of them! I'm not a heavy user, no gaming, mostly web browsing and using Twitter, Instagram etc. Between 2 and 3 hours of screen time a day looking at the tracking app I have on this phone. Is the XS likely to still be decent? Music Magpie guarantee at least 80% battery health compared to new.

Also would anyone recommend a specific refurbished seller in particular? I'm looking at MM because they still have their winter sale, but if Envirofone/BackMarket/someone else is better I'd rather use the most reliable site!

Wouldn't buy an xS. I had an XR which I know isn't the same but it's the same generation. I would get an 11 as they're a great step up. The Xses were the most expensive phones. DS1 has an 11 and is very pleased with it.

Anyone around for the evening?

If I look at the 11 range I'd have to go for an 11 Pro for the size, looking at reviews I'm not sure if it'd really be worth the extra £100+ it would cost.

I bought an iPhone XS a couple of months ago and really like it.

Like you OP I have small hands and so wanted a much smaller phone than most on offer. I also wanted one which fitted into some of the very small bags I own and inside pockets of jackets, etc.

When you say size do you mean you need a 256 gun?

Not sure about the XS but I recently bought the SE2020 as it is the smaller size iPhone and relatively new. I bought refurbished from Music Magpie as you get a years guarantee with them anyway. Might be worth considering? I love mine!

For me it was also the quality of the photos. DH has the XR, DS2 has the 11, I have the 12 pro, DD has the 12 pro max (huge in physical size) and DS2 has the 13. The biggest jump in photo quality imo is between the XR and the 11.

Size as in dimensions. Ideally don't want to go bigger than a 6 inch screen, the 5.8 inch I have now is just about manageable with one hand if I need to!

Hadn't really looked much at the SE 2020 but that might be worth looking into!

Depends how long you want it for. The XS will stop being supported in 3 years.
