British gas smart meter showing £6.5k weekly balance?!

Help! Has anyone else experienced this? Smart meter installed a week ago. Home screen seems accurate for daily rate (approx. £2.20)? I don't have heating on much. Weekly rate is absolutely off the charts. Monthly is over £12k?!
Has anyone else had this and how did you fix it? I've tried contacting British Gas but customer service offline till Monday now.

Well given the highest amount in the week is shown as £2.27 I am thinking it is some sort of glitch. Maybe leave it to see if it sorts itself out over time?

And this shit is why I’m refusing to have a smart meter. So far I’ve seen little proof there’s anything “smart” about them.

I have a different monitor, but mine showed I had spent £100 in 13 days, which is more than my normal monthly bill. I spoke to BG several times who looked into it and got it sorted eventually.

I also looked into my account online and checked recent meter readings, and took photos of my KWH used rather than the £ spent. Just so I had some 'evidence' in case they tried to say it was correct.

Had a little workshop with myself (I work in tech support!!). Unplugged it and plugged it back in. £9 per week.

I've put that little box thing in the drawer. Was pushed and pushed to get a smart meter for a long time. Finally succumbed and the little box thing was just annoying so I unplugged it Grin

I think they take time to settle. The 1st couple of days we had one it was showing we were using enough energy to power the whole road!
