White Feathers

Just wondered who believed that finding a white feather is a sign from someone who’s passed? We lost one of our bunnies in April & just recently it’s been such a comfort to see the white feathers in just the places he used to go. One was stuck in the fence at the exact spot he used to leap through & the other day there was one lying next to the flowerpot he’s buried under 🐰🐇🐰🐇

Me! Whenever my DS finds a feather he picks it up and says "Nana is here" and gives it to me to keep Smile

TheQueef · 17/09/2021 14:50

Tis a sign the pigeons have been fighting ere.

FleasInMyKnees · 17/09/2021 14:51

Oh yes I believe in this too. I find it comforting to think they are now at peace but just want to say hello. Sorry to hear about your bunny.

WhatIsThisPlease · 17/09/2021 14:54

I absolutely believe this. When I'm out walking my dog and I see one, I think it's my grandad walking with me.
It always makes me smile

ShushShushShush · 17/09/2021 14:59

Logically I know it was because the sparrowhawk has had dinner

But, emotionally I think of my lost baby. More so since I have got a positive pregnancy test. Its like he's saying he's sent me a gift.

I was out for a walk with a friend and over a one hour period we must have seen around six fluffy white feathers, either lying in the path in front of us or floating down through the air to land near us.

My friend was very skeptical about any supernatural meaning. I have to admit I was quite spooked seeing so many over such a distance. I wasn't feeling particularly emotional at the time or thinking about relatives who had passed. I do realise that some bird or birds would have had to lose these feathers for them to appear. I am keeping an open mind.

Beeinalily · 17/09/2021 15:21

I think it's true, and also the thing about robins. I was on a walk with my son and he was saying how sad he was that his aunt had died, when a robin flew down and virtually shouted in his ear!

CurryLover55 · 17/09/2021 15:23

shushshushshush so sorry about your baby

I lost my dad very suddenly a year ago. I went on a small local holiday with my family that had been cancelled several times so we had to take it. It was exactly a year on from his passing. As soon as we pitched the tent a single white fluffy feather floated down from above. No birds In sight!
It was lovely x

I thought it was a load of nonsense but something that brought comfort to people in times of distress whenever they saw a white feather.

I first heard about it when Caron Keating was ill/died.

I used to care for a friends dog and the dog became more or less ours and out of the blue she suffered an accident whilst at home with her owner and weeks later it was clear she would not recover so her owner who recognised the close bond I had with her dog, asked me to be there when the dog was put to sleep and I held her in my arms as the vet administered the dose.

The dog was very much loved and missed greatly.

At the time I was having a lot of aggravation with my partner who is now my ex.

Being able to take my friends dog out after work was not just a pleasure at being with the dog but also an escape from my partner so my feelings in mourning the most loveliest of dogs was also caught up in emotions regarding my home life.

One day I parked in the drive after work and was absolutely dreading going indoors and seeing him and sat there for a few minutes feeling absolutely overwhelmed.

I pulled myself together and as I got out of the car a white feather fell in front of my face and I had a very strange sensation of time standing still , all sound around me faded away and a strong rush of memories of the dog came flooding into my mind, wonderful happy times of being out with her and my children playing with her.

A feeling of calm descended and I somehow knew that despite the current situation of my home life I was going to be able to get away from him and there would be happy times ahead again.

I felt confident about the future for the first time in months. We split very quickly after that strange experience!

Now common sense says that Roxy wasn’t in heaven and had dropped a feather down to remind me of her and that life was going to get better but it was certainly an unusual experience that I cannot properly explain!

Drinkyourweaklemondrink · 17/09/2021 15:31

@ShushShushShush I'm so sorry for your loss x

AuntieMarys · 17/09/2021 15:38

No. Don't believe it at all. But if it makes people feel better, fine. I am not a believer in guardian angels, Robins as dead people and anything else beyond the grave

CurryLover55 · 17/09/2021 18:15

I still speak to our bunny every time I pass where he’s buried. Don’t want him to ever feel lonely or forgotten. He was such a big part of our lives, bless him.

That is lovely. Our pets are family members and as such should be remembered with love and affection.
Iflyaway · 17/09/2021 19:38

White feathers mean the angels are with us. Sending us messages. Just open yourself up to it.

Sadly, too many people do not believe.

I am very much into spiritual messages, however they manifest themselves

DerAlteMann · 17/09/2021 20:12

Never heard of this.

Wishimaywishimight · 17/09/2021 20:17

I lost a very dear friend 7 weeks ago. I miss him terribly and find myself looking out for white feathers, robins, butterflies but I'm just not seeing them. We were the best of friends for 30 years and i would so love to know he is still somewhere...

I'm so poorly with covid atm but I read this comment in the voice of Russell Brand and it really made me laugh! Although I love finding feathers and I believe! There was one beside me on the sofa today. Made me feel better.
CurryLover55 · 17/09/2021 20:25

Get well soon Thevolturi

Heatherjayne1972 · 17/09/2021 20:37

I see white feathers literally every where
Logically I must just go where birds go but it’s odd

blackheartsgirl · 17/09/2021 21:55

I've had a couple of weird ones that I've found in random places.

The most notable one was about a month after dh died and I'd accidently left his washbag at the hospice and just couldn't face going to get it afterwards, really worried myself over it for a month until my friend went to pick it up, went round to hers one night to get it and ended up crying and crying and feeling relief that I finally had this bag. Went to leave and there was a single white feather lying on the floor in front of her hall way door. It wasn't there before.

kazza446 · 17/09/2021 21:59

I lost a close friend a few months back. He was only 49 and had a sudden heart attack. The day he died, I was just about to leave for his funeral. I looked out into my garden and there was the largest single white feather I’ve ever seen. I’ve kept it for prosperity.

LaLaFlottes · 17/09/2021 22:04

I think it’s a nice thing to believe and I love seeing white feathers. Whether it means something or not, at the very least it makes us remember a loved one, which is nice.
