Invited to wedding evening party, new boyfriend's friends

Hi all,

I am really happy that I have been invited to the evening part of my newish boyfriend's (5 months) friends' wedding in August. I've actually not met them yet with lockdown etc.

I know this is a silly but I've never had an evening only invitation. Do I take a card/ present/ ask to see the gift list if there is one? What kind of thing should I wear, wedding finery or more evening/ party wear?

If anyone has outfit suggestions for a size 12-14, 30 something, before I start shopping, these will be welcome too

You partner will give a gift and sign both your names.
I would wear a pretty party dress or jumpsuit - whatever you are into

I would bring a gift, perhaps a bottle of champagne/prosecco or whatever you wish, and a party dress/cocktail dress would be great. Have fun!

Depends where the reception is and go from there?
What is your boyfriend wearing?
Match him, if not, i would go for something ‘down the middle’
So not to dressy but not to casual either and nothing white :)

Thanks all! If a bottle of champagne/ equivalent would.be ok as a gift I will take that i think, rather than come.empty handed!
