Thanks for the new thread. In anticipation of the new veg box coming tomorrow, I’m finishing off the cavalo nero, aubergine and some sad onions as curry.

Aubergine sounds so good right now!

@Spam88 do you want to repost your list and I'm sure everyone will have some suggestions?

Reposting from the end of the previous thread. This is the fresh stuff I've got that needs using (plus the meat and veg in my freezer). Store cupboard is pretty well stocked with the staples. All ideas welcome! Have a click and collect slot next Friday so hoping to last until then without having to shop. Thanks :)

If you have lentils or butter beans you could make a lovely casserole with chorizo and chicken thighs or pork sausages. Or alternatively you could use potatoes. Carrots fit well too, and you could have the crusty rolls with it.

Tarts with the puff pastry - feta, olives, jarred peppers, cherry tomatoes, broccoli, green pesto.

Chilli with the mince and tortillas (is that wraps or chips?).

This is a lovely recipe:

Mix garlic and herbs into the Philadelphia, then put the cheese back into the fridge to keep cold, cut a deep pocket into the chicken breast, stuff with cheese, then wrap tightly in bacon (unsmoked streaky is best as the recipe calls for prosciutto) and secure with a cocktail stick.

If you’ve got smoked bacon the above recipe might work better with smoked paprika, garlic and herbs in the cheese, plus a slice of chorizo in each pocket, then wrap in the bacon.

Brown in a pan (if you have an oven proof cast iron pan this would be best) and then transfer to the oven and cook on 170 in fan oven for 20-25 min. Might want to go up 10 degrees if you’re not using cast iron.

Serve with crushed garlic potatoes and carrots glazed in butter, honey or maple syrup and a small pinch of cumin.

Oh a pico de gallo to accompany your chilli would use up some of your salad veg.

The braised lettuce and peas I linked to in the last thread is well worth trying, and would work with chicken breasts, thighs or sausages. Rice goes very nicely with it.

A vegetable curry would use up loads of veg, you can add some boiled eggs for protein. This would pair nicely with your pakoras.

Have you got finger rolls? If so you could do chilli dogs with your frankfurters. Save a portion of the chilli and that’s another meal done.

Frankfurters also go very well in a potato salad.

I made these for New Years. They were fab. You could improvise on toppings. We had them as a stand-alone meal as they’re actually very filling.

Thank you so much for the new thread. I'd be lost without it - this is my life now.

The part baked bread makes great garlic bread too, if that would work with any meals you end up making.

You could also do a patatas bravas-style tray bake dish with potatoes, sweet potatoes, chorizo, peppers, olives, etc. Crumble the feta over the dish at the end if you don’t really like it cooked (I don’t), or use chicken.

@SchadenfreudePersonified I know what you mean - I gain so much from the structure and routine of planning our meals every day. Plus it’s just nice to hang out with other foodies. ☺️

I’ll just remind everyone here that as far as I’m concerned pet pics are very welcome!

Placemarking.

Great to have a collated list of the recipes thanks op.

I'm just having tea and toast using some of the jam I made, very nice if I do say so myself.

Bin day here which is problematic in itself for various reasons.

"Chicken" chausseur casserole and chips are my plan for tonight, possibly with more of the crumble - I need to be really hungry to want to eat it though.

I've a couple more deliveries booked, keep checking for slots but no luck so far. Really getting worried.

This thread has been so helpful and nice to read over the last few days. Thank you all, and well done for making it to thread two!

It also reminded me to have an omelette for lunch. I really like them, but for some reason, always forget about them. Ham, cheddar and a bit of red pepper and mushroom that needed using up. Lovely!
