I need to get my arse into gear next year, so far, I'm planning on C25k and have signed up to January Cure.

will be attempting to get my hair trimmed more regularly than once a year and I need to eat healthier and cook from scratch more.

Anyone else wanting to join me?

I am rejoining SW. Cutting down on booze and aiming to exercise more - hopefully more walks in nature and something that will make me feel better mentally as well as physically like yoga.

Really want to start taking care of myself.

I'm going to give myself an hour before bed to have a nice bath, instead of a quick dip in tepid water because I got side tracked by other stuff and it went cold, followed by a beauty care routine, I have all the products, I just need to use them.

@Disillusioneddaisy I have a gym membership, I used it for a week 4 months ago so I need to get into the routine of using that too.

Me! Every year I say I'll get my shit together and every year I don't. But this year I will. My plan is to:

  • get out for a walk every day
  • stop eating as much crap, especially in the evenings
  • lose at least 2 stone
  • sort my house out, there's so much clutter
  • take time to look after myself more - hair/eyebrows/nails/decent skincare routine.

I have put everyone else first for so long. I need to put myself first, even if only for an hour a day!

@MillieMoodle I have put everyone else first for so long. I need to put myself first, even if only for an hour a day!

That's exactly my problem, my DC are old enough to either be home alone for an hour or to come to the gym with me, so I have no excuses, I just need to actually do it.

Me too. Need to get more organised and want to start exercising too. Also need to sort my weight and finances out!

@Spartonian my DC are still little (8 and 3) but DH can look after them for as long as it takes me to go for a walk each day, I just never ask him to. And I need to be stronger and say no to takeaways for financial and waistline reasons Grin

@Joyfulincolour me too, I don't really know where to start!

@MillieMoodle I may delete the Uber eats app off my phone.

@Joyfulincolour I have started with my bedroom, I have gone through all drawers and got rid of all the little bits of crap I find and then chuck in a drawer.

I have my new make up items laid out and the old ones gone.

I need to organise underwear drawer and sort through my wardrobe.

I have lots of nice clothes but default to wearing the older clothes so I need to change that.

I will need to buy a tracksuit I can pull on every morning to do the school run in but will also use that time to do the C25K.

I have an Apple Watch but forget to charge it, so have not worn it for a while. have now moved the charger so it forms part of my evening routine to charge, while in the bath and then wear, over night to track my sleep pattern and keep it on during the day.

@Spartonian I think we are going to allow one takeaway per month but decide on the date at the start of the month so we can look forward to it and enjoy it, rather than order too many times a month just because I'm late in from work or we haven't bothered to go shopping.

I'm full of cold at the moment so taking a couple of days to do pretty much nothing but rest, to try to get over it properly. It's been hanging around for nearly 4 weeks and I want it gone before I go back to work on 2nd Jan!

I really need to sort my clothes out, there's so much that doesn't fit any more and that I don't wear. I did sort my wardrobe before Christmas but the clothes I took out haven't made it into the charity bag yet Blush still need to do the drawers.

Hi everyone 🖐 I've started with sorting my calendar and bedroom out. I'm trying to decide how to lose the weight, once and for all. I've done WW countless times plus tinkered with a few others (SW, Lighterlife & low carb) over the years. I really don't want to join another weightless club as I know what I should be eating. I'm trying to work out a plan that suits me and creates some weight loss too. I know that exercise would help but I have a dodgy back so have to be careful!
One thing that did work in 2019 for us was to use those Gousto meal boxes. The food feels like you're eating a take away but the portion size is controlled.

New tracksuit ordered and a sports bra with a cheap pair of running trainers also ordered.

Going to sort wardrobe now and will then have a flick through quick to make recipes as sometimes we only have half an hour to cook and eat in before I need to go back out.

Me!
More self-care: manicures, eyebrow shaping, haircuts.
Join CrossFit gym.
Eat healthy.

I forgot to add in meditation time

Not quite sure where I'm going to find the hours to fit everything in.

On a more positive note, my wardrobe is done, just have underwear drawer to go but I know that involves trying on every bra and I really can't be arsed right now plus I have no money to replace the bras that no longer fit

Yes- me! I am time poor as a single parent so:

  • joining the gym in town which run half an hour exercise classes at lunchtimes. So can do in my lunch break at work.
  • eat healthier- especially making & eating soups for work lunches! Keep a list of soups to make at the front of my diary so have inspiration when I'm doing the food shopping.
  • do food shopping online so healthy stuff in fridge
  • planning a day once a month for me and my son to do something nice together as a treat day.
  • Sunday nights to be used for sorting out son's games kit for week and what I'm going to wear for the week.
  • checking weather forecast before I leave home so that I don't get pissed on on my way to work.

Top tip that I started doing in Sept and which helps HUGELY is booking three hair appointments ahead. And then I book any beauty treatments on the same afternoon. I love knowing I have it sorted.

I spend half an hour on Sunday evenings with kids and DH going through the plan for the week. Just need to integrate meals with that conversation as I am horribly bad with food stuff.

Spartonian · 29/12/2019 16:53

I already do the planning on Sunday for the week and make sure correct bags are packed.
I put the bags in the boot of my car so we have them ready for the various activities during the week.
That is one thing I won't be changing.

Hair and beauty appointments booked in advance is a good idea, I will just need to wait until I have had the household budget chat with DH.

I'm heading back to SW, have signed up to Red January and will be restarting C25k. Every year I say this is the year I'll get my shit together but it never happens. But...new decade & all that. I've got cases full of clothes that don't fit me, and if I don't get into them next year then the whole lot has to go.

Plus I'm going to practice on the piano every day. I used to play and regret giving up. I know I'll never be as good as I was, but I can still get a lot of pleasure out of it.

I need a kick up the butt today, need to finish front room and go through the kitchen today.

Tomorrow is under the stairs and the laundry room which have both been turned in to "just put it in there" places.

Front room and kitchen both done.

I recommend an app called Forest, you put a timer on for how ever long you want and it grows a tree, if you leave the app, the tree dies Sad I set it for an hour and got front room and kitchen done in that time.

@Spartonian well done! Sounds like you've had a productive afternoon.

I've done nothing today, apart from go to the doctors this morning. Feeling pretty rubbish and I never get the chance to just chill on the sofa, so that's what I've done pretty much all day. Will re-join the real world tomorrow! We are going out for NYE so need to paint my nails and make myself look presentable tomorrow, plus visit my parents and go to Tesco.
