What wanky things do you actually quite like?

I often see threads about popular things people don't like, and since it sometimes seems a bit trendy to NOT like popular things I wondered what slightly wanky things you DO like?

This thought popped into my head whilst eating duck pate on one of the three "artisan breads" I picked up from the bakery this morning. My DH always takes the piss out of my love for a posh bread but I care not a jot Grin

I bought a filter coffee machine and have now completely given up on instant.

I buy ready grated cheese and pre-sliced veg and I care not a jot, lol

A cup of tea from the tea pot in a cup and saucer that doesn't go in the dishwasher. It tastes better. It does.

Avocado toast
Starbucks
Soy chocolate milk
Cloth napkins

I'm a craft beer wanker, as are a lot of my friends. But we hypocritically moan about other craft beer wankers

yyy to avocado on toast. I also like medjool dates (made ubiquitous by Deliciously Ella).

I love expensive scented candles. Cire Trudon or Diptyque. People always go on about them as if they're a total waste of money ("might as well burn £10 notes" etc) but they give me longer lasting pleasure than eg a meal out or a taxi journey.

I love a fancy flavoured gin with fancy tonic, and I'm with you on the fancy bread, even better paired with a really nice butter too!

I have a Yankee candle obsession. Although god help anyone who buys a manky smelling one for me.

I like wanky independent coffee shops where I can get a genuinely delicious cup of coffee and drink it in peace away from the mum and baby crowd. Maybe with a good book, preferably about either norse or Greek mythology and some nice 'coffee shop music' in the background.

I have done my time with a baby in a noisy Costa, now if I go to a coffee shop I look for one with stairs and things like smashed avocado on rye and matcha lattes.

I'm pretty down to earth otherwise and don't really care about posh bread/alcohol/tech etc

Avocado everything, matcha tea/lattes, almond milk, (I’m not vegan or lactose intolerant), kombucha

I also feel better buying organic veg, despite no real evidence to show it’s healthier 🤷‍♀️

I’m not sure if I do like anything wanky or have wanky habits, but I’d like to do will use this thread as inspiration Grin

Nothing is ever wanky when I like it.

@whatsinthebagwhatcoulditbe with you on all those including medjool dates, presumably you've tried them stuffed with nut butter?

Candles for me Diptyque and Jo Malone are worth every penny and burn much longer than Yankee. @Busybeebeebee which Yankee ones do you like? I think they all smell a bit artificial however I have only tried a few.

Little wanky jars with a straw through the top used as a glass. I have one shaped like a pineapple.
I took a photo and my friend actually called me a jam jar wanker Blush

Avocados.
Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc.
Bearded men in plaid shirt wearing glasses... ideally making me a double shot extra hot latte.

Oh loads of stuff! Avocado anything, artisan everything. Loose-leaf tea from an independent tea seller in particular. If I were made of money, I'd shamelessly immerse myself fully in artisan wankery. Sadly, a) I'm not made of money and b) I live in a fairly unwanky area. Grin

Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc

Is that considered wanky? Blush

agree with pp on never drinking instant coffee and also craft beer.

I drink fever tree tonic as my soft drink of choice.

I also keep my rice, pasta and lentils in kilner jars on my kitchen shelf and I used to make my own sourdough Blush

I very occasionally watch part of a televised opera and while doing so I briefly admire myself for being quite the thing.
