The other day I watched 'The Impossible', the film about the 2004 tsunami. I've seen it before but for some reason it caught my attention again.

One thing lead to another and I ended up watching videos of the 2011 Japan tsunami. At the time I had no TV or Internet so had no idea of the scale of the problem, it was just something I heard on the radio.

I can't stop watching these videos now Sad

I lost 5 hours watching women (mostly mid 20’s Americans) cut their own hair - and fucking it up.
They start off all happy and bouncy and then they turn grey and horrified.

Also love sporn

Dr pimple popper. I'm really squeamish about stuff like that. And I only looked her up because someone on here mentioned it. Now I am immune to the yuckiness. Except when they have to cut stuff out. That still makes me heave. But at night if I can't sleep I can watch videos of hers. I find her really sweet.

What's AMSR? Blush

I watch booper reels, anything from TV series to films I've seen to live news reports - very It'll Be Alright on the Night type stuff Grin

However, having just watched one of Night in the Museum with 7yo, I had to turn it off due to all the 'motherfuckers' Shock

I also watch Who Do You Think You Are as I'm in Spain and we cannot get BBC. I only watch people I recognise, and the American ones are good - Spike Lee and Kim Catrall were good, Sarah Jessica Parker was a Salem witch descendent! Fascinating stuff. Oh and Lisa Kudrow - devastating.

I saw few years ago the entirety of Freaks and Geeks, that was great! I'd never heard of it, just came across it.

The wild (semi tame because they keep feeding them) macaque monkeys that live in the ruins of the temple at Siem Riep, Cambodia.

The VO's (video ographers) have given them nick names to identify them and they all have become their own soap opera. It several ten minute videos that are uploaded every day. It's controversial because they over feed the monkeys and some just call them 'video vultures' because it's all about getting subscribers so they make money on their channel. However, no one is making the monkeys eat the fruit or sweet corn etc that they bring.

I have lost hour upon hour to these You Tube channels. To the point where I make a conscious effort not to look. But not tonight....

ASMR, although I have to mix it up between accents for it to work

I love ‘worst/best make up artist/hairdresser, they’re hilarious

Currently watching a lot of vines as various film/tv/real life characters. They’re so accurate

I also love fan vids, much to my shame Blush

My current favourite random one is a guy called Steve1989 who reviews MRE’s (army/navy/airforce packed meals). Surprisingly interesting and a soothing voice. He does modern and vintage ones, the older ones are fascinating for their content!

I have a weird fascination with American fundamentalist vloggers - all modest dressing, massive families and very sexist outlooks. It's just SO different from my world.

Also like 'what's in my bag' videos and organisation inspo. I'm going on holiday soon and watching videos people have taken of the resorts I'm planning to visit. I can quite happily go down a rabbit hole for hours on a rainy Sunday.

Asmr but only certain videos and I can’t be doing with all of the tapping and the rustling of the microphone
ASMR = autonomous sensory meridian response
Basically when you find something soothing and you go all tingly

Love watching ear wax being removed, it's best if it's in one big clump, so satisfying Blush

Also asmr I watched those years ago before they became a thing.

I like one particular asmr video, Sophia Chang when she does a facial on a lady called Jen. god it relaxes me so much. if I can't sleep I watch that and I'm out like a light.

One night I lost hours and hours watching American police forces have dance offs. Essentially some officers dancing and miming to a song, then challenging a neighbouring force to do better. And they did. And so on and so on. I have no idea how many I watched but it seemed like hundreds!!

I love the Veg Village Food channel. An Indian granny cooks huge quantities of delicious looking food outdoors. It's then served to the most beautiful children from Indian slums. Definitely my favourite channel.

Otherwise I like the American thrift videos and the couponing ones. I have no idea why.
