I don’t know if the media are speculating or there is a chance she could resign later today. If she does, what happens next?

She wont resign.. as it stands there are not enough signatures to see through the no confidence vote. In time it might be different.

We are even more fucked I expected. I am not a Tory so perhaps someone will else who knows better will suggest who would become then next PM.

I am a lefty remainer but I don't envy her position. She really has taken on a poison chalice. She was never going to please both people who wanted to stay and go before she had to consider negotiating with the EU.

Cameron is to blame for this shitstorm. He should have never have called referendum with having a plan for people to vote on.

I don't think she'll resign. She's too pig headed to do that. This sums her up pretty well:

Conservative leadership contest with someone stepping up as interim PM until that takes place. There isn't a current deputy PM so they'll have to find one. The current government is reliant on the support of the DUP in Parliament so if she does resign there's a chance everything will go pear-shaped for the Tories if the DUP withdraws its support and we could end up having another general election. Key campaigning issue: Brexit. Round 99 of How to Shoot Yourselves in the Foot.

They should make David Cameron come back - it's all his fault in the first place!

Then I'll go to sleep worrying about the fact my kid didn't have a shower tonight and we'll be in panic mode tomorrow morning to get out the door by 8am. Other than that, what to have for dinner tomorrow night when freak-hour (6pm) arrives.

Let's have an election and let Corbyn win - then we'll see what the state of the country under socialism/ communism is and finally shut the Left up.

I see the self serving politiians are resigning and want a leadership contest. Can't stand the thought of Corbyn.
May should stay and keep going with people around her who don't resign under stress and will do their best. It's transitional anyway so will change.

There won't a a new deal if someone else gets in, the eu will see to that and the whole thing just wobbles on with them all blaming each other instead of just getting on with it.

Thanks. I am no conservative supporter but I can’t see anyone else to get us through brexit really. No matter what deal she brought to the table I suspect someone would resign.

The way this is going regardless of who becomes leader or PM, I suspect there will have to be a second vote so politicians know what the hell to do! Critics say this is not the Brexit the people voted for, but unless you actually asked everyone who voted then does anyone actually know what kind of deal the electorate wanted! Maybe lots of people agree with May's deal or maybe not or maybe everyone is happy with a no deal or now want to just remain - I have no idea and neither do the Government!

Both Gove and Boris are positioning themselves to take over. Either way, we're fucked.

I don't think she'll resign (or perhaps I just hope she won't)

But, if she did...... As there is no deputy then I think she'll state she will resign on (future date) to tie in with leadership vote. She is then lame duck PM (for as short a period as possible) to keep Govt business giving over and deal with any crises that occur (bit like in the run up to a GE, major business/new initiatives all suspended).

Labour will have to decide, oecually if DUP go wobbly, whether to call a no-confidence vote and perhaps precipitate aGE I'm not sure they would actually want one at this point though.

I have a bottle of fizz in the fridge, her resignation would be worth breaking it out for.

The only "good" thing about Brexit, has been watching her age significantly over the last two years. Grin

I hate to inform you @citiesofbismuth but the shit already hit the fan. Corbyn getting elected would just be another idiot rolling around in it.

Left, right, centre? They are all power-mad, self-interested narcissists who couldn't lead a horse to water. We need actual politicians. Women and men who are intelligent, forward-focused and who care about the people. Where the fuck are they?

People who wanted to leave the EU are upset because they think the governmnet's plans leave us too close to the rest of the EU.

People who never wanted to leave in the first place still think it's a massive mistake to even be considering this.

The DUP have their own agenda concerning the border in Northern Ireland.

The SNP are hardwired to disagree with any plans the government puts forward, irrespective of content.

It's all a massive mess and at the moment everyone's piling in to criticise Theresa May but with no real idea of what they'd propose in her situation.

I do wish people would educate themselves and understand the difference between socialism and communism. The former is about equality of opportunity and ensuring everyone has a decent standard of living, the latter is about control. Corbyn is a socialist, not a communist.

And Labour shouldn't have to take over until Brexit has been sorted out one way or the other. The Tories are solely responsible for this shit shower and need to find a resolution, though goodness knows what that will be.
