Doctor Who tonight! One of the best episodes I have ever seen! Did you see it?

If you didn't see it, PLEASE get it on catch-up on BBC iplayer. It was about Rosa Parks, the activist in the civil rights movement in the 20th century (I'm sure you all knew that!) It was one of the most moving, well-written, brilliant episodes of anything I have ever seen.

So well acted, well written, and very educational. Brilliant, brilliant brilliant. Well done to all involved! Including Vinette Robinson who played Rosa.

Do watch it if you can. Excellent piece of television! I am soooooo loving Jodie Whittaker as Doctor Who!

Nope, I gave up after 10 minutes. They always seem to be shouting at one another, last week was the same. Not loving it at all.

I hated it. Also turned off after 10 minutes.

In utter agreement lavendergreen. Absolutely stunning episode. Tears filled my eyes at the end. Fabulous acting and writing all round. This series is going from strength to strength. Completely in love with everything, especially Jodie. However, I may be watching next week's episode from behind a cushion 🕷 eeek!

I thought it was great. My son knows about Rosa Parks from reading the Goodnight Stories for Rebel Girls books, but my 5 yo daughter didn’t and asked lots of questions about the racism. She was quite horrified and that made me a little proud Smile

I don't like making a point i got it i understood it but it was so slow and the criminal was just whapped away i think there needs to be more action beforethey go for sentiment or her being the Doctor will be lost in mushyness, btw i love her

Thought it was fabulous. I did note that it was written by the wonderful Malorie Blackman.

I loved it. I cried at the end - so did my dad! Really enjoying this new series. I think Jodie is great.

Totally totally agree Lavender, DD1 who is a crazy Dr Who fan said it was the best episode so far.

Acting was brilliant and I had a lump in my throat at the end, loved the end sound track too.

I was in tears at the end too ... And it's getting LOADS of positive comments all over social media. Being very highly praised for how good it was. Smile

Shame the 2 posters @tattybear16 and @myarris16 switched off after 10 minutes, because they missed one of the best Doctor Who episodes ever. Smile

It was very good, dropping into history , but the Vincent Van Gogh episode with Matt Smith from years ago was brilliant!

I didn't really get the villain. Was he just a one man hate machine? Or was he on a mission, for which he got released from prison.

Otherwise, great episode.

The baddies are getting their comeuppance in this series. First episode, dude gets pushed off a crane and this one gets zapped to who knows when.

Very disappointed Dr Who is a Sci Fi programme not a history programme

Have to totally agree. I loved it. One if the best episodes I've ever watched

The van Gogh episode always makes me cry. And I've seen it multiple times.

Ryan made me laugh a couple of times in tonight's episode. "Excuse me Dr King, yes Rosa Parks". Really warming to him. I wonder how long it'll be before him and Yaz get together. So gonna happen

Meh. I turned it off after 5 minutes. For me, Dr Who is about escapist fun. I don't need to be 'educated' in a roundabout way. I'll probably give it a miss now.

I really really enjoyed it, got goosebumps a couple of times when Rosa was there. But it felt like a history program and not like Dr Who.

I reckon the bad guy is on some sort of mission and that they will run into him again at some point

The ending was just so powerful for me. The portrayal of the bravery of Rosa Park was palpable. I do wonder if she had any idea of just how iconic she is. The scene behind the bins too.
