After the demise of no 4 thread, does anyone think it’s worth reviving or should we rephrase the question? 96%- 4% at the end I think.

Local elections.... mass spoiling of papers?

Women say no - is quite a nice counter mantra

Janice Turner retweeted the labour dick heads ‘no’ to women having single sex prisons, sports, toilets etc.

It was someone else’s question initially, the labour dickweed answered no, Janice Turner retweeted saying we should all be asking all candidates this question. On the aibu thread about labour fuckwhat another poster had brought it up and called it the Janice Turner question.

I suck at the technical stuff and am no way diplomatic enough to start a successful thread over there, but I’d definitely take part if anyone thought it’s worth asking.

And I think drawing attention to how we could use this to vote based on which candidates were willing to be publicly, loudly gc and stand against their party line for women’s rights and vote against self id is a good thing. Voting in a few Joanna Cherry’s from any party would send a stronger message than the tactical voting Tory or spoiling ballots imho. If a few mps won majority’s off the back of being publicly gc then all parties might start listening and recognise that 51% of the vote is something they want more than the wokey Twitter voice that they bow to currently.

I have just finished trawling through the four threads and thoroughly applaud the heroic efforts of the amazingly well informed and eloquent women on there. It is thanks to them that four threads were achieved at all 💐🥂

Reading the four threads in a one-er made the usual derailers and whatabouters seem even worse than just coming across their unquantified spoutings in a couple of posts. Fantastic sunlight.

I haven't heard the Janice Turner question. What is it?

Report
IWillSqueakAgain · 05/02/2021 17:25

Would the ‘Janice Turner’ question be worth posting there?

A different poster said they’d be asking this if all candidates prior to voting (presuming local elections too).

Would it be worth ‘AIBU to ask you all to ask all candidates the Janice Turner question’ over there?

I think there’s often an argument for taking voting back to basics. Not party politics but looking at candidates. If any candidate from any party was willing to be loudly gender critical publicly and pledged to vote against their parties pro self id stance, well if there were a few like that and they got windfall votes and gained seats on the back of their stance on this I think that would send a really strong message to candidates about consider women’s votes. I don’t think it matters if it’s labour, ld, greens etc if the candidate was willing to be 100% commitment to fighting for women’s rights and shutting down self id I think we’d have much greater impact that voting Tory regardless of the individual candidates view or spoiling ballots. A Joanna Cherry from every party would make way more difference imho.

Is it worth trying to get others to consider this approach?

I could ask the aibu, but I have zero idea how to enable voting or switch it off or post links or the pic of Janice Turner tweeting it etc so others might be better placed to do it?

The difference between the two PBPs were that one did not behave the same way as the other and only one was blamed publicly and it wasn’t the badly one .

My understanding is that Langry was banned for being a previously banned poster and the other poster was also banned for the same thing. Whilst it's not usual for women to speak like that, some do. Especially entitled ones who think we are all nasty bigots. I haven't seen anyone confirm that it was a man. I actually suspect it was woman.

It is happening in women's sports. My local women's football team played against a team with a transwoman on. The women at the moment are at the "be nice" stage. But if they start coming up against teams with several TW I think they will just drop out. Then we will have men's football, and tw football. My MP spouts women should just try harder.

Does someone know who Langrycleg is, and have checked if she's ok? Without scrolling back I can't check, did she get banned?

I think someone from mnhq said it was a troll and I think said was male. I don’t know of any woman who would speak like that. There were various posters who put up the threads but it was the last one that was taken down. It was good while it lasted and enabled many to observe the woman hating that goes on. I am glad the first four threads are still there as there have been many comments from newish women recounting their experiences. Did anyone archive no 5 at all?

Titties and flaps and waving vaginas in faces and all. To be honest, saying 'waving vaginas in faces' makes me even wonder if the poster was even female.

I can’t say I’ve ever come across a woman speaking about her own and other women’s bodies quite like that. It was extraordinary. The rage! The contempt! The disgust!

Ah bollocks @Winesalot I didn't keep up, didn't know it was a sealion troll.
I saw him saying some stuff which I didn't agree with but it was moving on very quickly so I left. I suppose the most important thing is the thread is still there with all of the information.

I’m pretty new to all this info it was the first AIBU thread that caught my eye and I’d like to thank @Datun because your posts are fucking amazing!
I’ve always been a radical feminist having been assaulted, raped and sodomised (porn addict ex)
I’ve always had controversial views on men and there’s where my furious anger lies... toxic masculinity. I’m fully accepting of a man dressing more feminine because I do believe clothes are for everyone, make up is for everyone. Men need to stop calling other men gay for wanting to, men need to accept ALL men
The stereotypes quite frankly piss me off. I’ve ventured onto Reddit to the Trans sub and all I see are young men wearing skirts, flowery dress, full face make up and saying ‘I feel pretty/cute’ You can be those things and be a man!
The bigger picture is male violence and the never ending effect on women and children

projection of their lack of critical thinking capacity?

96%! Well done to all who contributed.
Did that frequent poster change her stance?

If by 'frequent poster' you mean the troll as now identified by MNHQ? No. I believe they probably did not have the stamina to keep it up for another thread. I believe they had been trying to play the 'reasonable' game, but seems to underestimate just how intuitive so many of the women on MN were.

I don't believe many reading could not see the misogyny of that poster. The truly superficial approach they were proposing.

Some of the newer posters simply did not care about the ban hammer and it made that poster irate and it all came out. Titties and flaps and waving vaginas in faces and all. To be honest, saying 'waving vaginas in faces' makes me even wonder if the poster was even female. It did really come across as incel speak.

Yes there were several posters over the four threads who said, "I am thinking differently now" or "that's food for thought" or "I have learned a lot" and many "I didn't realise" es Smile
