Now in Salt Lake City, Utah.

twitter.com/christophelston/status/1309685206283030528?s=21

‘ Salt Lake City loves JK Rowling! ❤️

Thank you to our new friend who has decided to take a stand for JK, for women and children, and for the State of Utah.

Sir, you are the best. Those 15 boards throughout the State have never looked so good!’ 26/9/20

Apparently the San Francisco billboard is was up today and seen by 1/2 million drivers.

And they are going up in about more 40 locations in the USA according to Chris.

Thank you Chris and the donors. I think there is a bit of crowd funding happening too.

Well he’s blocked me now for showing concern and pointing out that some of the UK followers he’s accused of being TRAs know each other IRL and have been fighting the issue for years.

The posters are still fantastic. There is that.

Oh no,
So everyone saying "I feel a bit uneasy about this Canadian Posters Fella but can't quite put my finger on it" are now able to.

I guess unfortunately to get these posters across America you'd only actually do this, in this climate, right now, if you're a bit nuts.

Posie Parker doing posters in the UK is one thing, she's not nuts. She is rather controversial though.

The posters are still fantastic. There is that.

He does rogdmum. He has accused at least one legit person I have followed for quite a while because she asked some questions. I think he has some issues and has indulged too much in the ‘us and them’ approach. Never wise. Watching it play over the past few weeks, maybe it is the stress of being asked too many questions from all sides. No excuse though for these attacks. Just like there was no excuse for the uncommonmedia article personally aimed at allies yesterday. There are other ways to get points across.

I unfollowed and muted him a few days ago. I've entirely lost interest in anything he has to say.

Men, eh.

He seems to be losing the plot, accusing anyone who disagrees with him or questions him a TRA infiltrator. I think he needs to take a big step back away from this for a little while.

Text: “Beware of all the accounts with a 🟥. (Red square in case it doesn’t show up when I post)

Some are legit, but most are trans activists in disguise.

The 🟥 is their sign.”

Followed by a long list of followers with red squares in their profile.

I tend to think people do what they feel they can. He has taken the initiative to put up signs and to get his daughters lessons reviewed. I am not sure he has aspirations beyond that.

Right now does it matter? I'm more interested in the issue being made more and more public. It was pretty clear years ago that to make any headway at all with the general public that men were going to have to start talking about it.

(The same goes for NR dads who won't pay towards their kids. DH understands that those sort of guys should be shunned, not congratulated by their mates for getting one over on 'her'. He occasionally expresses his disgust with men who don't pay for their kids in public, but luckily most of our friends aren't like that, so he doesn't get the opportunity that often.)

It is a fair point but I don’t know that he is aiming to lead anything.

@Winesalot

If that's the case why not come up with his own campaign rather than hijacking the Standing For Women one.

I believe that Standing for Women have given their support. I am not sure why him being or not being a feminist ally matters. Why does it?

By the way, he is also actively working to bring awareness to educational capture in Canada. Similar to many women here in the UK and on this board. Again, does it matter what he defines himself as if he has the approval of Standing for Women for using the same sign.

He's being very male saviour, that's the issue.

Someone who objects to being called a feminist ally because it hurts his man feelings isn’t meant for leadership in a movement that centres women.

No not rich. He was stressed that the crowdfunder would not reach target and he’d be left with the debt.

He's coming across a bit MRA saviour complex at the moment on twitter. Blocking people I respect left right and centre and using anti-women tropes as the reason, e.g. calling it gossiping when people are discussing the campaign. Pretty disappointed to tell the truth

I don’t feel that I qualify as a feminist either.

Well he's posted saying he's not being a feminist ally, he's "doing his own thing". If that's the case why not come up with his own campaign rather than hijacking the Standing For Women one.

He blocked me when I called him out on that.

Even Posie Parker (aka Kellie-Jay Keen-Minshull the founder of Standing for Women) does not call herself a feminist,

Apparently there was a I ❤️ J K Rowling billboard live for a few hours yesterday in Times Square. It only had a short time slot booked but it seemed no one forced it to be taken off while it lived.
